Off topic, but JXL has been tasked by Hans Zimmer to score the music for all the Batman scenes in the
Batman V Superman movie.

Edit: Source is suspect. Will have to for confirmation.

Source is CBR who are legit. Not too surprising considering how Zimmer has been mentoring Junkie for a while with the Dark Knight scores and Man of Steel.

Hans Zimmer says Junkie XL's 'Mad Max' score is 'mind-blowingly brilliant'
<snip>
Just wanted to switch gears here at the end, I saw this news about Junkie XL and the "Batman v Superman" score. That's going to be fun.
It's going to be fun plus it gets me out of a dilemma, and that dilemma is really personal. Because Chris and I, we spent nine years — so don't think of it as three movies, but think of it as nine years of life, as a good chunk of life being very invested in this character. And I just didn't want to betray the character by going, "Oh, well, everything I did before doesn't mean anything. We can just wipe the slate clean and just start completely from scratch." I thought it would be much more interesting, just like it is a different actor, why not have the music be a different actor? And it just so happens that, number one, I adore working with Junkie. I love him as a human being. And then I have heard of things he's done that you haven't heard yet, or nobody's heard yet, his "Mad Max" score, which is absolutely phenomenal and mind-blowingly brilliant. People don't know him yet. This might not be "a Junkie XL score," this might be "a Tom Holkenborg score." He is a bit like Batman, whereby he hides behind a different name.

Big interview with Junkie XL. Among many other things, he says the first cut of Fury Road was 3 hours long. Skip forward to the 26 minute mark.

And that was just the middle part of the film, without the beginning & end parts added
I really do hope we get a extended and uncut version of the film on DVD & Blu-ray.

Another interview with JunkieXL
http://www.musictimes.com/articles/3170 ... ad-run.htm
Of particular note he mentions Fury Road briefly and how originally Miller told the studios he didn't want a score but just the sound of the vehicles, engines, characters and nature. Probably explains why we never really heard of a composer coming on board for a long while.

The final chase in MM2 also has partially no music score. Just the sounds of what you see.
A (good) music score makes scenes more alive. But at the parts in MM2 where it was left out, it can do without very well.
