Furiousa's rig ends up bogged down in the sand which gives Mad to turn up out the blue looking generally vengeful and not just because he's got leather pants full of sand.

Although that looks like part of the bubble trailer, which looks to me like it gets ripped off.
Looks great and good points.

What confused me is that there is this shot in the trailer:
Yeah. It might be that she just wont give up and he has to get in the cab and put a gun to her head to stop her.

Finally got the new Empire magazine and was surprised there were still new stills in the mag not posted anywhere. I guess with Nux missing a boot it gives you an idea of where Max gets his from.

Also in the interview George Miller clearly states that the Fury Road from 2002 and today are exactly the same story. Nothing was changed due to Hardy's casting and Miller always placed Fury Road as being a stand alone entry.

That's interesting, so even with Mel Gibson on board is was still a bit of a reboot?

That seems at odds with what Brendan McCarthy recently mentioned:

Code: Select all

As for the amount of time it's taken to get "Fury Road" onto the screen, George has outlined the long and winding road in his recent interviews. Back then, it was to be the fourth installment of the Mel Gibson "Max," but it took so long to get going that Mel eventually dropped out. Thankfully an actor with the required raw talent, Tom Hardy, appeared on the scene. Later, another screenwriter, Nico Lathouris, was brought in to recalibrate the script with George so it would work for the younger Tom Hardy

well, i think we've got a bit of closure on that one. It's supposed to be a standalone. It's interesting that the Interceptor from the 2002 and now looks different. The 2002 looked cleaner and similar to the first Mad Max movie while the 2015 one looks similar to the RW version

Is there a photo of the 2002 Interceptor?

It's the car shown in pictures and videos at the announcement. It's listed under Fury Road Interceptor. It was modified to look like it does in the Fury Road. Even the rear marker lights were changed from horizontal to vertical to match the year of the original car.

The 2002 Interceptor and the photo we saw wasn't from Fury Road. It was a hero car a South African company put together when they heard Mad Max 4 was going to be filmed in Namibia as a bid to build and supply the vehicles. The Interceptor was their "demo" and while they did get the job when the production was shutdown the car was shipped to Australia and stored until Fury Road started back up and began work on it which is how we finally see it in the 2009 press conference.
