Have to say Hardy is looking more of a Max in these pics than much I've seen so far, especially the one with the muzzle on, it's in the eyes..

Eh... I guess we'll see. I'm keeping an open mind, but them are awefully large boots to fill with only 16 lines of dialogue... Gonna have to be on his A+++ game in the line delivery, face expressions, timing, and action sequences.

Just noticed he not only incapacitated Nux, threw him over his shoulders while wielding the sawn-off...but also decided to bring the car door along too. What a boss.

Those photos are great. Hardy's Max looks like he's a bit of a nutter. What's that earpiece all about? It looks like it's got a broken wire.

In the photo with Nux, it looks like the wheels of the War Rig in the foreground are bogged down in sand. Wasn't there mention about such a scene, back when the film was still shooting?
Also from the trailer, I've noticed that the guy who suicide jumps onto the spikey car is jumping from the War Rig (there were also production pictures that cropped up in the past of those guys on the rig).
Just some random hypothesizing, but I wonder if Nux's car is part of the convoy at first, either escaping with Furiousa, or perhaps she's still working for Immortan Joe. That might explain why Max would end up pointing a gun at Furiosa, and maybe trying to comandeer the war rig.
Judging from past movies, Max is probably just out of ammo for his sawed-off and trades off for a loaded gun.

This is my guess but I think the War Rig is dug into the sand because of the giant sandstorm/tornadoes that it drives into to excape from the marauders.
Nux was chasing after Furiosa with Max strapped onto the front and Nux went suicidal before approaching the sandstorm and the whole car went flying. They somehow survived. And the reason max is carrying the door along with Nux is because Max's chained up to the door (you can see that in press photos) along with some transfusion tubing that went to Nux.

Yeah that does seem like a nice setup. Furiousa drives into the sandstorm in desperation. The storm takes out the mauraders. Furiousa's rig ends up bogged down in the sand which gives Mad to turn up out the blue looking generally vengeful and not just because he's got leather pants full of sand.

Although that looks like part of the bubble trailer, which looks to me like it gets ripped off.
