Culture Shock Events is pleased to be able to announce our first Mad Max event ROAD RAGE. Joining us will be VERNON WELLS, 'Wez' from Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior). Mad Max Road Rage will be held in Sydney on Sunday 18th September 2011.
So come and spend the day with other fans as we sit and talk about Mad Max, and just how difficult it was to work with Mel Gibson.
Vernon will be there live for people to talk to and ask all those questions you just have to have answered.
EVENT DETAILS
DATE: Sunday, 18 September, 2011
LOCATION: Sebel Parramatta, 350 Church Street Parramatta
TIME: 10:00am
TICKETS
General $25.00 Includes General seating, access to all areas of the event, access to photo ops and autograph sessions (costs apply)
This is a last minute event because Vernon is in Australia filming and wanted to do something for the fans, hence we only have two weeks to make it happen. We are trying to see who else may be available, but that will also depend on ticket sales.
I had thought that Australian fans would jump at the chance to catch up with Vernon, like the US fans get to regularly, but maybe we are wrong as there has been NO interest shown yet.

Unfortunately the Sebel Parramatta (event venue) does not have adequate facilities to show cars etc as it is on the main street of Parramatta CBD with no parking to speak of. Having enthusiasts exhibit their cars etc would have been great but with only a 2 week timeframe we did not have time to investigate other venues and had to rely on our usual venue for THIS event. We have had a few interesting calls today about possible guests for Sunday week and some other possibilities for down the track.

Well, i think that's one of your problems right there. For a lot of fans, it's about the cars.
I took my car on a cruise lastnight. I got pulled over by a cop who only wanted to have a look at the car and get some pictures of it. I pulled into a known car meeting spot next to a $250000 Lambogini, and everyone was looking at my beast rather than the more expensive car making a rich yuppie realise he'd been ripped off for what he spent.
Mad Max is cars. Without the cars, it's a bunch of men wearing kinky leather. You can see that at Mardi Gra for free.

Oh, just checked, the Sebel does have a drive thru drop off zone with waiting bays (as does every hotel built since the 70's). If they were interested, they'd let cars park there. Shit, Randwick council let us (mad max cars and bikes) park in front of the Ritz for the 31st reunion showing, and if you know Randwick council, they book you for stopping at traffic lights, but they were happy to accommodate us for a day.
For anyone else interested, I'm in discussions to have the Bopper appearing at Bathurst this year.

From the cultureshock.com website:
So come and spend the day with other fans as we sit and talk about Mad Max, and just how difficult it was to work with Mel Gibson.
Vilifying the hero of the film seems to be a strange way to encourage people to attend. Are there other cast and crew members involved with first hand knowledge to discuss the "difficult" Mr. Gibson?
Quite odd to have a event called "Road Rage" and not have made arrangements for there to be any cars. As Daz said:
For a lot of fans, it's about the cars.
