Hey Scott

There have been a few on Ebay of late ... not cheap though ; (

I shoot service rifles with a club so I'll ask around at the next meeting.

these guys do repro stuff for the light horse reenactors but you'd have to stain/age them.

The chain in those handcuffs is high-tensile steel, it'll take you ten minutes to hack through it with this, now if your lucky ? you can hack through your ankle in five minutes. Go !

Hello to the forum members.
I am a fan of the movies but my interest is really anything related to the military. I came across this thread and just wanted to point out that the ammunition belt in question is not Australian light horse but is in fact a Swedish Mauser ammunition belt identical to the belt in the door of the car.

Swedish Mauser

Australian light horse

hope this helps in some way.

thanks for your confirmation, mate. :-))

...and the belt weared by the dead berseker, killed by the snake, with the two 12 gauges...
That's why, when I saw the movie on VHS and picked out the belts, in my opinion, they buyed a cheap lot it in a military surplus.

I always thought it was a Light Horse bandoleer.

I'm happy to be proven wrong ... I'd rather know what's right than insist on being right ...

Does anyone have a good screen shot of the one mounted on the driver's door?

For years, I found a very good pic of the open door of the car at a meeting. It was also possible ti see how the machete was fixed...
I will see on google if I could find it again...
