Mad Mad Sleeve

Post by mrburns »

I am in the process of having a full sleeve (tattoo) done with various characters from the first two films. If anyone would like to see it, then you will have to tell me how upload the photos....

If you goto photobucket.com you can open a free account. When you upload your photos to your photobucket account get the IMG code from the list that appears under the photo when you place your mouse cursor over the photo.

Copy and paste the IMG code onto your forum post on this site.

Here is the link to a few shots, all taken by me in a rush so forgive the lighting and poor angles. The Humungus was only done today and isn't finished, hence his colour.

That looks very good. I gotta say that your arm would be instantly recognisable to any Mad Max fan.

Even though I can only see half of his face, I can tell that's the Toecutter. Plus, I like the smiling face of the gyrocaptain holding the snake.

The tatoo artist is very good. :)

How much has it cost so far? Is the tatoo artist a Mad Max fan?

I noticed you have images from MM 1 and 2 but nothing from thunderdome.

For Frank and any others interested, the sleeve started out as a single 'Abarth Scorpion' (on the back of some fiat cars, don't ask).. This is why Max's Jacket is where it is, a classic cover up. You can make it out if look closly. Max took two - three hour sessions, the toecutter, humungus and gyro were 3 each, cars were only an hour and a half.
Regarding no ink from Thunderdome, i never really look at it in the same light as the first two films, i would like to know what other fans think though.
The artist is a fan of the films and is enjoying doing them, he initially refused to put tribal or a grim reaper to cover the scorpion as he could see i was not 100%. so he asked me what i liked and here we are. He did say the gyro captian was his most challenging portrait so far.
On the cost, £40 rats an hour and for the i believe quality, that's cheap. The hard part for him is getting quality photos from the net that don't go grainy and loose detail when enlarged, if anyone still awake can help it would be appreciated.

The goose next probably along with the dog.
I might give Wez's boyfriend a miss mind you...

I have posted the pics on here as i think like minded MM nutters will appreciate them, it's not for crappy Facebook which people use to tell everyone in the world that they are 'about to have a bath.'

I could only find one photo of Goose in my collection and sadly, no dog. I did find a photo of the bear claw marauder.

Some people who visit this forum have mad max on Blu-ray. That will produce high rez photos. Maybe one of those guys could post an image of Goose and the dog here on the forum.

Here's a link to the Blu-ray thread
