FURY ROAD 3D?

Post by Maximum »

Long term viewer of this board, but this is my first post!!

There's alot of speculation about the film at the moment, is Tom Hardy Mad Max? Is Mel Gibson too old?

We know it's a $100 million dollar budget and a 30 week shoot! Is this because it'll be in 3D? George Miller wants to push the envelope, surely 3D would to this. Let's not forget Happy Feet 2 is 3D and he's directing that. I also remember an article just after Thunderdome which went along the lines of.... "The word from Sydney is no Mad Max IV, at least not yet. There's no script but Director George Miller does have one idea. He wants to do the next Mad Max movie in 3D." This is from the mid eighties. Let's not forget the manga Mad Max was going to be 3D. I guess alot will depend on the success (or lack of) of Avatar. If it's massive, I fully expect a 3D Fury Road.

As to who is Max, like most i'de like to see Mel return. Without him as Max it may aswell be a reboot. But Hardy is the lead, as to whether that's Max, his son, or someone else we'll have to wait and see. I keep thinking Clint's Moviehole site where the studio requested he take down the post saying Mel might be back as Max... as the villian!!

And just when is the movie set. I'd always assumed it would be post thunderdome. But if that interceptor at the press release is actually going to be in the movie then it'll have to be set before Mad Max 2 - in which case Mel would be too old. But from the look of the Holden Ute it looks post thunderdome!

Guess we'll have to wait and see.
