Hi,
My name is Dave, its got me stuffed why i hadn't stumbled across this amazing forum before (from probably not looking real hard). I have been druling over this website for the past few years , and now I like to think that I have really joined the ranks of the Mad Max fans after recently purchasing a Big Bopper Replica.
I have been a fan for over 20 years and just waiting for the day that i would build or buy a replica from the movie. The car that I bought was built by Ross Beckley and crew about 3 years ago to coincide with the 25years of Mad Max and to help raise funds for the Toukley neighbourhood centre. The car is a fantastic looking replica 76' fairmont with a 6 cyl , c4 collum shift auto, twin exhaust system, replica radio and some of the cast who attended the gala night have signed the dash. I am looking at putting the V8 running gear thru it within the next year or so.
I am looking forward to chatting to you all,

Cheers,

Brownie
PS There are red socks covering the Blue lights on the roof of the car

What does it have under the hood? 351?

Fairmont? I don't know much about Australian cars... is that basically the same as a Falcon? This is the second one I've seen today used as a base car, so I'm guessing it's like the '67 Le Mans is to the '67 GTO?

Just a straight 6 at the moment. The Fairmont had better options than the Falcon like cloth seats, C4 automatic (cruiseOmatic), softer suspension to name a few.

Welcome Dave,
Awesome! I am VERY glad the new owner of the TNC Bopper replica has joined us!
I wanted to go the the event so badly, but being inthe USA, and with realitively little time to plan................ well you get the picture.

Anyway, I am so glad you got the car! That is IMO a very important part of "Post Production" movie history, if for no ther reason than the signitures, and that it is one of VERY few replicas that have had the actuall actors or stunt crew sitting in it.
Its nearly "Real", or as close as you can get these days IMO.

Enjoy the fun of being a replica owner and defacto MFP officer! Keep the shiny side up, lookout for bongo vans with their indicator on, and try not to blow through any caravans!

Congratulations on your trophy. It looks great and it is nice to know that it went to someone that really appreciates it and will care for it.

Oh, and welcome to the board.
