Having the MP3 broadcast of the Roadwar Soundtrack during the Tanker Cruise of Roadwar NW was a blast. Should selections from Mad Max 1 be added to the current collection of music as it currently only has material from Mad Max 2 and Mad Max 3?

A long time ago I discovered the German metal band Risk produced a song that was about automotive combat. It might be a good addition to the Roadwar Soundtrack. The lyrics to Roadwar are presented below.

Wow, that was a find. I would have never guessed there was a song called Roadwar out there. Do you have a copy of the song? And if so can you send it to me?

I did consider putting some Mad Max 1 tracks on the soundtrack, but I felt that the first soundtrack just didn't have enough snippets of appropriate music. MM2 has these long periods of rhythmic, pounding orchestration, while MM1 has lots of tracks that musically go all over the map every 10 seconds.

My actual inspiration for the "Roadwar" name was from a computer game I used to play way back in the 80's on my Apple IIc. It was called Roadwar 2000. The box cover actually featured a bullet-ridden sign for a highway I lived very near to (the game company also was close by).

I have not found a CD of Risk's "The Daily Horror News" yet. I have only found a few LPs. A Japanese import CD was released in the late 1980s but it is very hard to find. When I acquire a LP or a CD, I will hook up with you.

I remembered another old auto-combat song that might interest you. The lyrics are listed below. In contrast to Roadwar, I do have a copy of this song on CD.

Thanks for telling me the background of Roadwar USA and Roadwar 2000. I played the game a long time ago on my Apple IIGS. I recently acquired the PC version and I am looking forward to raiding cities for supplies again.

With the dismantling of the game servers on August 31st, the Auto Assault Limited Edition Set can be acquired for a fraction of its $50-60 original price. The set includes a CD of the Auto Assault Soundtrack. Some of the tracks would be great while driving in actual traffic.

Wow you have the ear for awesome "pedal to the floor, trigger the mine dropper" auto-combat music. I am a diehard metalhead under the mad max outfit also so these examples are close to the heart for me.

On the soundtrack you heard at RWNW in particular.... )what an awesome experience to hear the MM2 soundtrack while chacing the tanker)...... that was the same "Official Roadwar 101 Soundtrack" compiled by Karol for the very first Roadwar event.

Given more time (and less going on pre-event) I would have arranged somthing similar. For "Roadwar NW II" (hopefully Next Year) I will use many of the same MM2 tracks, along with a VERY LIMITED bit from MM1 & MM3 BTD. I will DEFINATELY see about adding the tracks suggested, along with some personal "Rip the Guts outta her" favorites like "Highway Star" (originally by Deep Purple, but Ill be using the cover version by local band "Metal Church") and probably AC/DC's "Rocker" with special overdubbed Karoke vocals from "The NightRider". Thats just a sneek preview.........
