So what model WAS the Nightrider Monaro

As Nelson so rightly put it on the other thred ... Let's get back to talking about the cars!
As a matter of accuracy I'd like to get a consensus on the base car driven by the Nightrider. Depending on that consensus I believe that the entry in the MMM website may need to be changed.
I take on board Last V8's ... who is Scott S? ... input that it was ..
"a pristine one ownered vehicle picked up in Noble Park(Melbourne) and was owned by an older couple. It was a Six cylinder LE model. The sound was dubbed from Murrays 318 hemi. The car was delivered to the production house then Murray and Grant page took it too task on the Doncaster freeway while it was getting built.According to Murray ,Grant bownced and scraped it up and down the rock freeway walls to weather the old girl. They even put real bullit holes through the body. The Filthy Holden got what it deserved........"
... and I assume that this info came from Murray Smith? I also chatted with Murray at the Easternats and then with Grant Page on my return to Sydney. Grant 's story about how the car was 'weathered' is exactly the same as Murray's.
The condition of the interior of the Monaro backs up the pristine, one owner, angle.
My suggestion is that it is not an LS but a base model Monaro coupe.
We have to remember that to the folk who worked on the film it was one of many projects that they worked on nearly thirty years ago and sometimes ... despite phenomenal memories ... some of the detail gets clouded. Even Grant said to me one day that the MM poster in my office was wong because Max only had a single barrel shotgun .. and he doubled for Mel in the scene where he is reaching for the gun and gets his arm runover!
We need to dispassionately examine the evidence.
So ... with the pictures, brochures and screen captures on the previous thred ... who thinks Monaro Coupe and who thinks Monaro LS?
