Gyro Captain
Is that suppossed to be the same gyro captain in Thunderdome that was in Road Warrior or just the same actor?

Its hard to say, even the book leaves that in the open. In the scene when they meet face to face in the underground room, they show no indications of knowing each other. However when the Gyro captain comes face to face with Max , he lifts his glasses like he remembers Max. Max however does not. Many people do consider him a different character, but how many people fly planes and gyrocopters in the wasteland! I like to think it is the same character.

I'm awaiting a reply from my Brother who went to the film convention in Milton Keynes on Sunday it's mentioned in another thread. He phoned me to say he was hob-knobbing with the stars... if you can call a has been aging actor who played Dr Who in the mid 80's a star.
Anyways I told him Bruce Spence was there. "Who's he?" was the answer "Gyro Captain in MM2!! you dope." I yelled back "Oh!" was his reply. 2 hours later he phoned back and said he has a signed photo from Mr Spence for my B'day present (Gee thanks a bunch! I wanted a DVD

Last year while at the Wembly film convention in London Adam West was there, who played Batman in the 60's. I dared my brother to go up to him acting like the worst scary stalker type nerd and say, in rhyme "Adam West, Adam West of all the Batmans you're the best."
Then wait for security to come and 'escort' him out of the building

Apparently on Sunday he had security called when he pulled the same stunt with David Prowse who played Darth Vader in that series of obscure sci-fi films and more memorably the Green Cross Man in the TV ads. My Brother said he was the "Best Superman ev-AH! (gush gush) he was in fits of giggles while telling me that, cracked me up too. Must be hard on an actor when Joe Public isn't in awe of you but insists on playing head games instead.

See my signature below? Apparently Bruce Spence wrote that on the photo. I read in that other thread he wrote to same for that fella too. Hope the picture's not too scary. He one ugly fella.

Jedediah, the pilot in BTD isn't supposed to be The Gyro Captain. It's the same actor but in no case the same character ...
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

It's just like Lee Van Cleef in the Fistfull of Dollars Trilogy.
Col. Mortimer in For a Few Dollars more is a black clad gunslinger.
Angel Eyes in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is a different black wearing gunman, played by the same actor. Leone liked him enough to bring him back to the series in a similar role but as a different character. The actor Mario Brega is in all three movies in this series, playing different henchmen.
