Just wanted to bring up a topic for discussion based on an incident that occurred on the way to the Ford Centennial.
I had something of an epiphany as I was convoying with the other Falcons. We had two Interceptors and a Pursuit car driving, and another Interceptor on a trailer. Along with about 15 or so other Falcons...
So, prior to this, I had kinda felt that a bunch of black Interceptors running around would get sort of ridiculous. Like a whole squadron of Red Baron Fokker triplanes. But owing to the scarcity of Falcons here in the US, it wasn't a problem as yet.
Anyway, as we're driving up from Toledo to Dearborn on Detroit's well-kept roads (yeah...), we had a slight pause to regroup at a rest stop. Everybody got back together and we headed out onto the roads again. The two Interceptors and the Pursuit car came rumbling out in line just ahead of me.
And it didn't look half bad. It looked like a group of police cars, just like you'd see in the Blues Brothers or an episode of Cops. A couple Black Interceptors together didn't look silly, to my surprise. It made sense, if you think in terms of Max having a really hot version of a police interceptor. The yellow sedans are patrol cars/cruisers for daily work. The black coupes are like the highway patrol high speed chase interceptors over here. Fewer in numbers, but not limited to only one. So there could be several black coupes around, with Max's being even more potent with the blower mods, etc.
Thoughts?

I think that would look mean as sh*t, having a bunch of Black 'ceptors rumbling down the highway, doesn't matter how dorky that driver is, the cars themselves would force you to stay away, just looks like pure danger.

I say the more the merrier. Imagine a whole squadron of BoB's driving in formation......Gives me chills just thinking about it.

Yellows, would be a little dodgy though, i guess. Well a bunch of MAX's type with the 'high up' to the roof paint job, would be cool, but too much yellow in a ROOP and CHARLIE type.

Ok, how about this, take your favorite non-MM car chase movie and imagine it with MM cops and cop cars. Say, something like, "Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry" or, heh-heh, "Sugarland Express" (think of the shot with all those patrol cars following down the highway.....).
Or better yet- redo all the CHiPs episodes in the Mad Max world....The exicting adventures of Ponch and Goose!

Just looking at the three MFP cars at Dearborn was downright bonzer. I kinda wished they all were there (bummer 'bout Scarcellis BOB) and parked next to each other. Who cares about the subtle differences...they looked menacing enough all the same...more so as the Breaker Squad. Of course we have to look at reality (NOOOO!) for a quick sec. When is the next time all of them are going to be together? 2004 or 2009 for the MM1 reunion? Let us hope.
As far as differences amongst the cars themselves...I say go for it. You've all heard my plans for the Fairmont (whenever the stork brings it), Deep Lilac Purple Pearl over Midnight Nightmare Satin Black. The more unique and individual differences the merrier in my book. Example: The 'Ceptor Night rider steals-Holden/Pursuit Special, Maxs (1) Yellow Interceptor (2) Pursuit Special/Black on Black, Roop/Charlies Pursuit...right there is four examples of different paint schemes within the same department on three different body styles. After all, the BoB WAS built using a piece from here and a piece from there as another special unit like the Holden. The customization of each vehicle is kinda like the old noseart on warplanes...it made the pilot feel special...that nothing was going to happen to HIS bird. The tigersharks were used on P-40's to scare the bejesus out of the Chinese when flyin' the Hump...so it is in my mind with the BOB's/Pursuit Specials.
There's my two Canadian cents...sorry Doug/Henry...lol.
P.S. To those not living in Detroit like me, just picture the road construction and potholes...hell, even the traffic/bad drivers like the opening scene of Road Warrior where Max dodges the blockade of wrecked junkers, outrunning the vermin. Yes it's that bad, like Mitch said.

I always thought the YELLOW INTERCEPTOR's woulda looked way cooler with RED SUNRAYSIA's, other than yellow, there are a couple cars round here with Red one's, and they really do look cool.

How about someone doing a coupe in the yellow paint scheme? Or a BoB sedan with the Nose kit, Roof / Trunk spoilers? (Actually, thinking about it, a BoB sedan would be pretty damn cool if you ask me.) Is there any reason why a Nosecone kit wouldn't fit on a sedan the same as a coupe? I know the roof / trunk spoilers are different. You could still do 4 exhaust per side, but the zoomie style probably wouldn't work well with the rear doors. As I write this, the idea is growing on me even more.....

Actually I have beem wondering what to do with my new car that I am bringing over,a 76 XB fairmont GS.I was first planning on returning it to the stock vermillion fire with black GS stripe, but since other Bill lives so close and his is basically the identically same car, down to the year and color,I was thinking on doing an XB Cobra, like the one that was in Oz.But then Phil started hitting me with the idea of a sedan colored/spoilered coupe, similar to the car in the Addicted to Base video.I wouldn't cut the XA hood scoops into the fenders, but the paint sceem is kinda cool.I guess we'll just wait and see.Bill

BTW, Lemme know what rear leaf springs you're running on the Interceptor. And length of shackle kit. Thanks!
