MFP BA FALCON SIGHTING!! (Laverton)

Post by loco351 »

hey everyone, this is unbelievable stuff i know but last thursday (20th march) i witnessed something incredible here in melbourne...in cherry lane in laverton,(yes, as per famous location mad max 1) at about 1 a.m. i was driving through cherry lane on my way home and noticed detour signs ahead and behind them about 500 metres, bright lights so i took a closer look (parked my car behind the petrol station and walked through the bushes parallel to cherry lane and got very close...@ 50 metres)and noticed a small camera crew setting up(about 5 people) a couple in hooded parkas and holding clipboards and one with a laptop. there were 2 utes and a bmw 4 wheel drive parked in james st. nearby. i waited for about fifteen minutes and a then i heard a truck pull up around the corner. what i saw next completely blew me away, i thought i was dreaming....out of it rolled what seemed to be a new BA falcon, very heaviliy modified, black and 2 door! the car itself had a camera mounted on the left door it was all over in about 10 more minutes, the falcon did a couple of passes right before my eyes (would have reached @ 160k's top) as well as a huge powerslide out of james st itself. they obviously filmed it and then got out quick as others had stopped to see what the bright lights were all about. there was about ten cars that had stopped after me and a few guys were running down from the barriers. one of the crew had noticed the commotion and walked up to us shining a torch and asking us to leave and to say nothing of what we had seen. we looked on in amazement, i can't say i recognised any faces but the car itself looked awesome...it was gloss black and had in large matt black lettering that could only be seen under certain light, 'MFP' right across the doors on an angle and on the hood also.the foglights and headlights alternated blue and red and it had no plates. it had a huge black aluminium drop tank, one massive pipe out back on the right...no blower though, not popping out anyway. the car sat very low and the wheels were huge...looked like o.z. racing , black also. another thing that grabbed my attention were the n.s.w. number plates on the BMW 4 wheel drive ... 'GM-000' !!! i went back last nite (there are several thick tyre marks across the area) and will go again tonite but am not very hopeful that they will return. i can't belive i didn't have my camera with me!!

Do you think it could have been a Monaro? I haven't even heard of Ford design or completing a two door BA yet.

And whatever happen to the guy who was going to post photos of his Torino Interceptor?

OK Guys, something some of you might not know

5. The current AU Ford Falcon is now available in Australia, brand spanking new, in two door coupe format and with a full factory warranty - true of false.

True (The Hillier's conversion is so good it is backed by a full Ford factory new car warranty)

The family owned Hillier Conversions has joined with Bob Roman's Autotek to market and sell these cars, up to six cars per year, these conversions start at $35,000 and can go as high as $150,000 AUD.

http://www.smasa.com.au/documents/archi ... 7_quiz.htm

I have an article about these cars, it is Unique Cars, July issue 2002. It made a first apperance at the Melbourne motor show 2001 and was at first based on a AU falcoln, but I guess now it will be a BA instead.

I have had a look on the web but have not come up with anything yet, will keep looking

Hi All.

I recall something about the guy who made the film clip for the Mad Max type video "addicted to Bass" saying he was working on another clip with a lowered late model falcon that was going to use a Australian V8 supercar body kit.

This is the only connection that I can think of.

Bloody interesting all the same.

Hmmmm I would love a go at awesome wide wheels and perhaps the old group "C" type flares on a late model Falcon, hmmm trim that roof spoiler down a little, that super car wing .. BA type hood bulge.. salivate... salivate...all black satin and gloss in the night light ... wooogh!!

Cheers
