About the Gyro Captain

I just found this site like five seconds ago and was looking at the whole Gyro Captain arguement..

If this has already been answered or whatever, I have no idea. Just found the site.

I believe that they are the same guy. I mean..yeah he steal's Max's crap..it might either be because he doesn't recognize him or it's because he just doesn't give a crap.

Either way, Max sees him later and says..YOU..YOU something flying machine etc..he recognized him right there. I don't think he would have recognized him earlier, what with him flying overhead zooming away and what not..I think just as soon as Max saw him he made the connection.

I agree with you. Some here will disagree. Debate will continue, as nobody can give the definitive answer. One of my main reasons is that it's too distracting to have an all too similar character played by the same easily recognised actor from a previous movie in the series. Again, Danny Glover as a different cop in Lethal Weapon 2? I think not...

George Miller stated the gyro captain and Jedidiah are 2 different characters. I believe it's somewhere at madmaxmovies

Mad Max RW and Big Joe, we know we are correct in this debate, i don't know why we waste our time putting our view forward, it's hard to educate some people. (only joking, no hate mail please)

Gyro captain and Jedediah the same character? that must be why they have different names. and about those teeth, let's face it, before anybody decides to come up with a rediculous explanation as in other posts.

Firstly the toothpaste theory, oh yes, plenty of that lying around, if anyone comes across this magical substance that turns rotten teeth into pearly whites, send me a trailer load.

Secondly, i don't think there would have been many dentists still practising, i also think the gyro captain would have had more on his mind than his teeth, basic survival for one.

Finally, when i read Big Joe's example of same actors in different roles and the danny glover thing............................no contest.

For christ sakes, as old as THUNDERDOME is , and people still think GYRO and JEDEDIAH are the same character? and how come its always THUNDERDOME fans?

Don't you think when MAX tor into JEDEDIAH's bedroom, despite being in a hurry and all that, he wouldn't have been so shocked in seeing that old character, that they both wouldn't have probably hugged (out of shock of course), and then discussed what they'd both been up to the last 5 or so years? or don't you think max woulda been just a bit curious about the GREAT NORTHERN TRIBE? he woulda been like "so hey, member that group of people we saved, and there was that truck, and i got my arm clawed, you crashed that copter thing you had, and oh yeah, member that hot chick that just wanted to be a bloke... well whatever happened to them? did they make it, i bet they went through that gas in a week, do they ever talk about me?

huh you reckon? i don't care how staunch max is, the utter shock of seeing this character again woulda left him breathless. it would be like seeing FIFI again, or FERAL.

All is in the teeth, did someone noticed, that Gyro's teeth are disgusting and Jedediah's are pretty white?

Ohhhh your poor feeble minds , absent in absract thought and void of conjecture, eliminate the capacity of rational thought or conclusion.

I have stated the reasons why many times, mulled the ramifications, and set forth the decree .......

Bruce Spence played the same character....an opportunist scavenger and avid aeronautics enthusiast , who was willing to sell his soul for survival or advantage in a wasted world...

As such..... the ruling stands....upon my authority...and is above contestation.
