Litres or Gallons?

I've seen MM2/Road Warrior again and I'm just wondering why the interceptor has the fuel gauge with the word "LITRES" and the characters in the movie use the word "GALLONS". Are both words common in Australia to refer to the gasoline?

Think that, Max's Australia isn't our Australia. Their slang is very different. Same thing for the word "guzzoline" Max and the others use to spell.

r u watching the us version ????? if so that is why huh in aus we have the metric system so it makes sence that the gauge is in ltrs and if you have road warrior you have the yankie version which was dubbed was it not

I have the Japanese region 2 DVD. I don't know that MM2 was dubbed too...

I suppose that the region 4 dvd has the original aussie version, right? I'll wait because I think that MM2 Special Edition could be released "in a not too distant future"....

Only MM1 was dubbed.

I believe that all English versions of MM2 use the original dialog.

Hey Ric, I always thought that . If in Australia you have the metric system (Petrol in Litres) Why George Miller introduced the word Gallons in the script?... maybe MM2 was a little Americanized ?

I'm sure MM2 was "Americanised".

Look at Guzzoline. We do not call petrol (=petroleum) gasoline in Oz.

im a child of the metric dawn.

people still regard themselves as 6 ft 3 and 85 kilos.

grandmas house is five miles out of town, but its a 700km trip to the airport.

litres and gallons ? around 79/80 either reference would still have been common. i had to change the speedo in my car to a 75 model speedo, so i could figure out how fast i was going.

metric is definitely the way to go. makes most calculations much easier.

i believe only teh USA, Cuba and Liberia still use imperial measurements.

although i was confused in the UK, wher ethey are in the same state as Oz was in the early 70's.
