Ok... well apart from the fact it is totally fantastic to watch now instead of the grainey appearance of the video.. the extra detail is great....
some things i saw.....
As the Interceptor passes under the camera while it is chasing the toecutter gang just before Johnny the Boy falls off.... look inside the coupe!... is there another person inside the car? Cameraman?
When Max pulls the handbrake to do his u-turn after the bridge.. the Tacho reads ZERO !
AND on the DVD version.. they have forgotten a COMPLETE line of Johnny the boys dialog! As Max grabs him by the Ankle and drags him away in the VIDEO you hear him say... "oow careful my ankle my foot man!" In the DVD all he says is OWWW !! Holy Crap how did they miss this!?!?!?!?!
One thing i hate is the explosion sound effects at the end too is kinda..well.awful... why did they change this???
But i love it.. the amazing extra detail just blows me away....

A little while ago, there were a few of us commenting on the disappointment with the MM2/Road Warrior dvd - in particular, the so called "special features".
Now as much as I am excited by the picture quality of the new MM1 dvd, I must admit I'm feeling a little disappointed once again. After waiting so long, and with so much build up towards the release date, I honestly thought we may have been in for a bit more of a treat with the special features on this one! ...and even though we only get text as an added bonus, you would think they could get it right!
I can not believe (read: I'm absolutely disgusted) that in the "Max Fax" section of the special features, it reads...
"Max's car, the yellow interceptor, is a 1973 Ford Falcon GT Coupe, with a 300bhp 351C V-8 engine, customised with the front end of a Ford Fairmont and other modifications."
...now, unless I just haven't noticed the "yellow coupe", how f##ked up is that??!!
...and according to the back of the dvd, Max is a motorcycle cop!
shame shame shame

Has anyone been over to the Village Roadshow web site,
http://www.village.com.au, to look at the release info for the DVD? Hmm, some of the text in that synopsis seems strangely familiar...
Sam, which MM2 DVD do you have? I'm pretty sure my Region 4 DVD has NO extras at all, not even a trailer or production notes. No idea why the MM2 SE tape hasn't made it to DVD yet (it hasn't been done in the USA either), I'm assuming because the market is still flooded with the original disc, so they'll wait until they need to do a re-pressing before making an update. That's basically what MGM did with Mad Max, they had the rights for a few years, but they waited until the original Orion disc was well and truly out of print before doing anything on DVD.

OOPs... My mistake Peter . I just looked at my MADMAX2 DVD... no theres no trailers... I was thinking of my MADMAX 3 one.
Some questions arise..... why is MADMAX 2 and 3 available in so many languages.. while most other (especially HOLLYWOOD) movies on DVD only available with English and Spanish language?
(yes i even played madmax 2 in italian as i am a wog... and found the dubbing pretty good infact..... had a laugh too....)

Does any-one stop to think, that these are movies and not real life?, flubs in movies are to be expected, i.e. the tach reading zero when Max pulls the handbrake!, of course it would read zero when there is a camera man filming max's hand movements while he is driving, as sequences like this would have been shot in a stationary vehicle, and not one moving at high speeds, performing a handbrake stop. This is both common sense, and safe practice.
I mean studying a DVD for these kinds of things! there must be more productive things to do with one's time....i.e. watching it and enjoying it for what it is, incredible, adrenaline rushing fiction full of flubs like all movies e.g. jet vapor trails in the sky in a dinosaur movie, depicting the jurassic period.
Why look for things that everyone knows are there to one degree or another, this sort of spoils a films credibility and entertainment value to say the least.

The Flubs dont annoy me....
ITs the fact that i can now actually see them after 12 years of watching a grainy dull video in which the colour and details were fuzzy and dull !
Everyone is well aware it is a movie.. and not real...

There has been a guy on ebay offering a special edition MM2 DVD that he claims is from Europe (but made in Canada) that
is the version from TV with all the major violence cut out and nearly 20 minutes of deleted scenes added in. Has anyone else even heard of this release?
He claims to have several copies and also claims that they're not 'home made' but legit store bought DVDs (region 1 I might add)

It's the "Lost Version". It's not a legit release, but worth having if the quality is any good. I'm still trying to find out who is making these so that I can get one without having to bid for it on eBay.

The price is a bit much I feel but I may get one and then let everyone know what it's like.
