The left eye of the post-modern heroes
Rockatansky has a glass eye (The left eye) in the third installement.Probably,Max has met another organized group of survivors ,after the events of MM2,in which there was a surgeon! Strange thing...Sallow(Rutger Hauer)of the "Salute of the Jugger" movie and Snake Plissken too. They haven't the left eye.OOOps...and the "Deacon" of Waterworld? He's a bad guy but... However,it's a sort of pride question, for me.My grandpa had a glass left eye just like my hero!!! He was a good type,a dreamer of the old generation and -in a his own way- an hero.

Thanks for mentioning an observation I never thought of before. Wow, what an insight.
Your grandfather sounded like a really great man. You were very fortunate to have such a
caring and inspirational person in your family, one that you were able to know.
I wonder if my mother's father was like your grandfather. He died three years before I was born.
What makes my story a happy is my grandfather served in the Long Range Desert Patrol
Group during WWII, driving Jeeps and Chevrolet trucks armed with machine-guns to strike at
the German forces in N. Africa. I never knew about this aspect of my grandfather until a year
or two after I started playing the auto-combat board game Car Wars and watching the
Mad Max Trilogy.
) Perhaps my grandfather's spirit is what gave me the interest in the genre
of autodueling.

I forgot to tell you my grandfather was also born in Australia then moved to America in the early
days of his childhood. Could this fact be another reason why I enjoy Mad Max?
