Wez, The Humonguous, and the Four-Barrel Dartgun

Why did The Humungus chain Wez to the six-wheeled, NO2-burning vehicle, then permit the ex-bronze

to cut Wez loose, permitting Wez to man the four-barrel dartgun? I am assuming The Humungus was

not too happy with Wez exiting the refinery with the tractor and Max intact, therefore the chains were

used for punishment. What I cannot understand is how come The Humungus freed Wez?

When Max drove the tractor into the refinery, a dartgun-armed vehicle that looked like an El Camino

pickup chased Max. The vehicle ended up in a ditch next to the refinery when The Gyro Captain dropped

a snake on the gunner, who then shot the driver. When Max drives the tractor-trailer to escape the

refinery, Wez uses a dartgun mounted on the red pickup. I was wondering did The Humungous have

more than one four-barrel dartgun, or did some of the army sneak past the defenses of the refinery to

salvage the four-barrel dartgun from the crashed vehicle?

: -- The El Camino you speak of was actually a Chrysler Valiant 2 door ( different to the aussie charger though ) which had the boot lid and rear window removed to accomodate the shooter.

I dont believe they snuck past to get the dart gun, they probably had another.

As for Wez gettin chained up.. maybe he was scoping for a new bumboy and went after one of Mungys and pissed the bigfella off.

I think the humungous was irritated after wez stole his truck to chase down max and the interceptor. when wez takes it the humungous says "you defy me you puppy" presumably at wez? He probably feared that wez might do something stupid in his eagerness to get at max

once the chase was on, wez was left to do his distructive best.

I'm pretty sure that the bad guys had a whole heap of similar weapons such as the arrow pack at the start used by the landau road racer, the chrysler and the other guys.

I agree with you on that. I'd be irritated to if someone took my car, even if he was working for me.

The marauders may have snuck in to steel the dart guns. In all the scenes up to that point, the red F100 was without any rear-mounted weapons, but after the Valiant crash they somehow aquire one.
