Need confirmation on some details

I need some confirmation as I am doing a project on Mad Max and I do not have access to my issue of AMC Magazine issue featuring the Pursuit Special and interview with Murray Smith where he talks about the scene where we hear Max in his Yellow Interceptor getting ready for the head-on collision with the NightRider. Unless I am mistaken, I remember him saying the sound used was NOT that of the actual 351 engine of that car, but I think Murray's own Valiant or perhaps another bigger v8 engine. Does anyone here have this mag at hand to confirm this? Cheers.
