Is 11 too young for fury road?
Hi guys, just as the title says, is 11 too young? I've been completely into mad Max since the beginning, I couldn't have been much older than 11 when I saw mad Max, and I definitely wouldn't show him that, but fury road isn't as brutally nihilistic, it's my favourite film and I can't wait to share it with him!

Of course that is an individual parents decision. I saw MM1 & 2 in a double feature around that age and the worst trauma I suffered is a lifelong desire for the car. Thunderdome might as well be G rated.
Fury Road is acceptable too, but I would (if it were me) make sure to show all the rest to him first. It sets up why Max is a hardened anti hero. Truth be told Mad Max 1 has far less actual onscreen violence and more "implied" violence. Fury Road is a fast paced violence S#!t show from start to finish. Great film, but its a sign of the times with today's movie making, and appeals to today's movie goers in that way.
Just my 2 cents.

I heard that while pregnant, if the expecting mother watches Fury Road once per day for nine months, the baby will be born perfect in every way.
Never too young for Fury Road...

I let my boys (5) and (8) just watch the car action parts and skip the rest. MM1 I skip intro with people having sex in field. and let them watch the car chase up intill Jessie plays sax then boys get bored fast. Then I skip to the end were max gets the car out of garage and watch it till the end. The road warrior I only let them watch intro car chase and skip to max packing up and filling up the car and blasting out of compound and let them watch the last chase but don't let them see the guys in bat XA pull the two off the trailer. TO much nudity/rape and dead guy quick scenes to skip in road warrior for my boys to just watch whole movie. Fury road I let them watch most of movie but I know were to skip bad parts (baby getting cut out) my oldest boy doesn't like seeing the little ghost girl. I can let them watch beyond thunderdome nothing they cant see except when blaster gets shot with arrows is probly the worst part in that movie lol, I think at (11) he/she would be fine watching all movies, But I would try to skip the nude/rape parts in road warrior. If he/she was thirteen id say go for it all the way.

You do realise that's what the ratings are for, to help you decide if you should allow children to watch it. this film is rated R?josephdetor wrote:Hi guys, just as the title says, is 11 too young?
That said, i'm not sure why FR has such a high rating, since there's very little sex and bad language. not much graphic violence either.
