Fury Road Cars - Where Are They Now?
Fury Road Cars - Where Are They Now?
A topic dedicated to current whereabouts of vehicles used in Fury Road.
Aside from the usual suspects being kept in Sydney warehouses, turns out other vehicles have fallen into private hands. Here's my most recent discovery:
Fargo Polecar #4.
It's been bought by someone in Africa, modified and displayed at 2015 Afrikaburn (Africa's version of the Burning Man).
It now looks closer to Max's Camel Wagon: Notice the bike in the 2nd picture? Same deal. It's the tit-sidecar Vuvalini bike, or as I like to call it 'the sideboob'. It's actually the Royal Enfield. In its original state for reference: Other cars that are still used are: the Big Foot. It returned to its natural habitat and is currently jumping over cars in WA. If you find the whereabouts of Fury Road cars, drop them all in here.

I don't think it really matters if it's a recent pic or not because the truck is back looking exactly the same. Check out this video:

looking at the vuvalini bike, i love/hate it. i think it's neat looking, but i hate that they modified a movie vehicle.

I was hoping during the movies run ,the vehicles would have been able to be toured around more so fans could have been able to see them, especially the new interceptor. I also hope in this day and age these vehicles don't meet the same fate as the Thunderdome vehicles did.

A vehicle known as Lysdexia/Gigglehorse:
A little backstory - it was an unused car that had a bike engine installed backwards (hence the name Lysdexia). It was deemed too dangerous to drive and ultimately ended up on the back of the car carrier in the movie.
The car was basically made from a spare Ford 1932 Coupe shell that was in the workshop.
Here's what it originally looked like:
Lysdexia/Gigglehorse shell was recently found on eBay. As of today, you can still buy it for AU $3,000:

1940 Hillman Minx on a L300 4WD chassis somehow escaped the crusher and made its way back to Sydney into some private hands.
In the movie it was originally supposed to be the Buzzards car, but it ended up on the car carrier most of the time.

Re: Fury Road Cars - Where Are They Now?
So did the remaining BOB interceptor from promotional pictures survive the crusher? Very disappointing to hear they already crushed alot of the vehicles already.
Re: Fury Road Cars - Where Are They Now?
Yes the Interceptor survived. At least the main one that's been used for promo since 2009 (back when it had metal mesh headlight covers).
There were in fact 3 Interceptors:
1 - Hero car for closeups
2 - Stunt car that was rolled in the movie.
3 - Backup stunt car for rolling - very bad condition, essentially just a shell. Not sure what happened to it but most likely was scraped.
Truth be told (this is coming from Cameron Manewell): a lot of cars did in fact survive the shoot and made it back! The ones that ended up in a crusher were damaged already, but the remaining lot is sitting in an undisclosed location in Australia. According to Cameron a lot of people drive past that warehouse completely unaware of what's inside.
