"Diesel Dogs", only just looked at it, but it might be fun

I looked at the site a bit, starter guide and such, but it assumes you already have a base understanding which I don't .

What exactly do you do in a forum-based RPG? Do you roleplay as characters and just post stories? Or is it actually a game like a pen & paper RPG or something, but done via the forum?

I just got started, and haven't handled combat yet, but this one appears to be more about playing characters to tell a story. Other forum RPGs seem to go into greater detail, some use apps to handle combat and stuff.

And yes, the help bit isn't very well written, I went read some guides elsewhere to try and wrap my head around it (the Wikipedia page for this kind of game was the most help, since it covers all the acronyms, lol) ... but the existing players seem like a friendly bunch
