Fury Road: Furious at the Box office!

Post by DGSimo »

So Fury Road topped the 4 day weekend in the UK:

Also by Monday May 25th the worldwide take for the film was $219 Million. To top it off take a look at the US box office for yesterday...
1 Mad Max: Fury Road $3,045,462 $97,763,182
2 Tomorrowland $2,913,711 $45,592,911
3 Pitch Perfect 2 $2,867,565 $128,606,360
4 Avengers: Age of Ultron $1,949,182 $413,318,567
5 Poltergeist (2015) $1,773,684 $28,115,116

Fury Road moved in to first place after Disney's Tomorrowland held the previous 4 days given it was a new release but dropped to second and Pitch Perfect 2 is in 3rd place. Fury Road should hit the $100 million mark in the US today or tomorrow. Looks like the great word of mouth coupled with the reviews is giving the film the legs it needed!

So about announcing the next one, WB?!

I have been to see it 5 times now, different days of the week and different times, and so far every show has been busier than the one before it. this is the one time I don't mind the theater being packed.

Anyone knows when the movie will be released in China? It's a very important market.

It will not be. Movies on time travel and future are instantaniously banned. I'm not joking.

That's a bold claim, Uncle. The truth is - the release date is not yet scheduled for China.

I think it only concerns 100% Chinese shows and movies. After all they didn't have a problem showing (and co-producing!) Looper which is a time travelling continuity mess.

DREDD featured a post-apocalyptic future and was released in China:
