Well going from a high (seeing Fury Road) to an all time low.

Having heard rumours of what happened to the original Interceptor, thanks to a so-called fan this car has been utterly RUINED.

Jim Martino your name is MUD.
Not only is the car RUINED, but certain items from the car have been taken and replaced (no doubt you will sell them or use them on a project car)

Seriously how anyone can sleep at night after you have fucked THE INTERCEPTOR is beyond me.
FAN? FUCK NO!

Hows it ruined? The guy who "restored" it in Australia back in the mid 80's ruined it! The front nose being wrong and missing half the stuff that was inside the car. So why be angry for adding those bits back to make it more authentic to the movie? I hope they end up trimming the nose to really make it looks like she was back in the movie. ONe thing I don't like is that brand new skinny spare. I think they should try and find a worn out 295/50/R15 tire. I have one they can have and I'm 2 1/2 hours north of them.

At this point you start to wonder if there's any point in restoring it to be movie accurate or just go further with weird modifications. If they tried to make it screen accurate again it'd be more like a replica of itself. Damn, the things they've done to this iconic car, it's a shame.

I'd be interested to know what has been removed by Martino. Museums often embellish displays to help capture the feeling of the original event, but I agree with Bart that tire is awful; way to modern and skinny. I have said all along that the paint needs to be restored to the original black on black but preferably done by someone associated with the original build. Ultimately I would love to see this car returned to it's native homeland where it rightfully belongs.

Sorry shouldve said, Ruined again.

I have no respect for someone whos done a poor job and also swapped some of the interior over.
Also why did the blower and scott get painted silver?

Car doesnt look authentic at all.

I'd give it a make-under. make the paint correct and good protection, then use fake sprayed on dirt and rust to look like it does at the start of Road Warrior. That's the best version to aim for, since that's what most fans will remember (and a lot of people don't like Mad Max 1).

Poor effort at best oh and Jim Martino is a dip, he had a youtube vid years back, somebody posted it on this forum, he was telling everybody his interceptor replica was the real deal. I also met him and same car in person in 2002 and he was saying same crap at the show then too. lol Poor car now I just worrie about Hurricane taking it away after all these years. Should have been preserved straight after Road Warrior. In the end that would have been best.

Sam, your an ankle!!! get your facts correct will you! the car was ruined when it was botched up in the 80s! who are you to talk about the car when you cant even get a roof console correct.

the Interceptor is in dyer need of a resto and the blower been painted silver is spot on! polished reflected off the cameras, thought you would know that with all your high an mighty knowledge.

look at it this way Sam, if Mr Martino was to go any where near that car, its for the good of the car. the engine is junk. the rest of it is flogged out an been messed with over the years, if the car was ever to get restored then Jim Martino is the best person to do the job correctly, ethically and professionally. to me Sam it looks like your just jealous of someone who can actually help the vehicle back to movie correct an not the the stuffed up mess it is now!

am sure some of you will start on me now, so go right ahead, sure we had a roof spoiler an trunk spoiler let go on a car that lived out side in the California sun, oops. an another an engine blew up, an i flew to USA to fix it under warranty. so grizzle all you like, but at the end of the day the interceptor is in need of a movie correct restoration and Jim Martino is the one who should do it.
