WHERE IS THIS PICTURE FROM?

I've seen this picture around the internet for ages now and comes up on most websites where Mad Max is mentioned, what I want to know is when about's in the film is this picture taken? Is it a promotional shot? If it is from a scene in the film the only part I can think of is maybe a part of the missing beginning part of the Road Warrior..

That was part of a series of promotional pictures..... no idea how many were taken but it was quite a lot.

This one, or one similar I saw back too a while in Reader's Digest and couldn't place it in the third film. Nowhere do I remember a bunker like what's behind Max in the picture.

Seems to be another promo pic. If anything it'd take place when Max first entered Bartertown.
Same pic, higher res, different source (it's a poster from Starfix). I think there's someone in the bunker.

Nice find! Cant say i have seen it before (but i dont usually search for MM3 pictures.
I dont think its a bunker as such, I think its a camera location which has been hidden.
Its possible the scene was filmed using multiple angles (high/ low shot) at the same time, so the camera was hidden into the hill.
Im also guessing its at Bartertown?
