It's Charlie Sheen. Chances are her parents were too young to remember Thunderdome.

Haven't really encountered that myself. However, I've been scanning Mad Max related tweets for some time now and I'm surprised at the number of first time Mad Max viewers who call it boring or terrible. I'm even more surprised when they say that about MM2, although it's said about MM1 more often. Example: this tweet made a little over an hour ago.

Mad Max is nothing like what I expected and way boring

I'm actually not surprised by this. Obviously not a car guy he would probably say the same thing about other movies of that time. Films like Ditry Marry and Crazy Larry, Vanishing Point, the Original Gone in 60 Seconds, American Grafitti, Hollywood Knights, hell he probably wouldn't like or get Smokey and the Bandit either. Younger audiences today grew up with computers, playstations, X-box. They are more into all the cgi and 3-D crap and couldn't careless about the old days when they had to do stunts and car crashes for real nor can they understand or appreciate older and classic muscle cars. we have The Fast and the Furious to thank for that. I grew up with shows like the Dukes of Hazzard, Knight Rider and Hardcastle and McCormick. Lame by todays standards but they were the shit when I was a kid and I still love those old shows and movies to this day.

Drag racers were experimenting with such systems back in the fifties if not further back..

Multiple engines is certainly doable as well... Have a look at a Tractor Pull sometime.
Problem with those (And this is from a conversation I had with a Tractor builder/competitor at a state fair Tractor Pull event some years ago) is that all of the engines on the vehicle have to be Blueprinted and tuned to EXACTLY the same torque and horsepower curves, otherwise it'll.. how was it he put that? Oh yeah "F*** up the drivetrain and rattle the engines to the S***can before you could get it off the trailer"
Oh I know those exsit in real life, I was merely asking if this particular setup on Gigahorse is fully functional :)
The engines are both functional, 502Cid (502Hp) Big Block crate motors with 8/71 blowers, driven through a custom made gearbox that runs back through a Turbo 400 Auto. All working, very functional and was a real headache for the guys to engineer and make work, mainly with cooling the gearbox that joins the engines.

Can't make it that easy, there is still quite a few months left for people to guess what the cars all are. Personally I've been very impressed with some peoples ability to work out what some of the cars were very early on from very minor details. I enjoy reading the peoples guesses along with their theories on what the cars are for or how they are being used. It all adds to the interest in the movie and I think that's a big part of why most of the people are on this forum to discuss the ins and outs of the movie and throw there own ideas around.

It certainly is tough on us Yanks that grew up with American cars and are unfamiliar with Aussie designs. Some look close to US cars, but with all the modifications it IS really hard. With that said....
Thanks for all the info you have shared. I know I'm learning all kinds of cool shit! 8-)
