No problem, lol. The throttle lever is even hooked up and moves with the peddle. :) As you can imagine the Interceptor isn't the only vehicle with "fake" engine parts, but wherever possible the cars were built to look accurate and functional where possible. There are also a few details on various cars that will amuse people who really stop and freeze frame the blu ray version to see all the fine details. I'll wait till well after the screen release to point any of those out. There not plot things, just details on the cars themselves.
PursuitSpecial wrote: Someone was probably told to make it look like a wasteland car like MM2 and did some research but ultimately went overboard on the wasteland part and overlooked a few other details here and there.
Built as directed, tried to keep it as accurate as possible, however some details were limited by either available parts (or the time/budget to source more accurate parts) and ultimately direction from art director / production designer or George Miller himself.

So basically what I'm saying is that although some details differ from the original car(s), it wasn't due to lack of knowledge or care, the car was just built as it was supposed to be, so as you see it, is how it's supposed to be for Fury Road.

When you see an update from biolumen or furyroadcars, you know its worth reading!

Interesting to read, the Interceptor is confirmed in the movie and not just a PR car and that it is built as designed, especially with only rear 1 fuel tank.
Most viewers of FR won't realise the MM2 Interceptor had rear 2 fuel tanks.
Maybe the 2 tanks were added separately and FR tells the story of how the second tank is added?

After FR's release, it will be interesting to read from furyroadcars how individual cars and vehicles were designed and built. Maybe Peter can create a new section on the main site?

Autotrak in Namibia

Posted on Thursday, October 11th, 2012 by Autotrak

We’ve just got back from two weeks holiday in Namibia visiting our team working on location for the new Mad Max 4 film and helping out where needed. That sounds more like work I can hear you saying but without sounding corny, work is a holiday to us!

Everything is going well in Namibia although the crew have had fun and games with sandstorms. Not your daily occurrence in Oxfordshire!

We also had five days in Cape Town on the way home and that was amazing although five days isn’t long enough to do the place justice, you need at least two weeks.

Here are some of the photos we took whilst on-location. We are obviously not allowed to show you anything to do with filming but these should give you and idea of what it’s like.

At first I thought they were laying blacktop for filming, but soon realized it was probably a temp road for vehicles to access the filming site without damaging the environment or getting stuck in the sand. More photos at the link above.

It appears to be one of the sand buggy chassis we saw early on with a body fitted to it.

That tricycle is really interesting. I predict it will be ridden by a very quirky Gyro Captain type of character.

Is that some sort of portable CD player under those horns?

Seems like some sort of connection with music or sound in this movie especially with that massive truck covered in speakers.
