The MM3 novel mentions the World blow itself away a few weeks after Max killed Johnny and that it was so long ago
for Max that he'd forgotten their names - 18 years according to various books and magazines.

This is why I've always figured the nuclear war happened before MM2 but I've stood corrected on this before here...
