May I ask that you continue your bickering if you like, with me!!!! no one else is writing or spittin it with this!!! keep people out of it that have allready bolted from the forum!!!

The advantages of not deleting emails!!! this was sent to me and John in November 2004....
[div]Hi Guys.[/font][/div]
[div][/font] [/div]
[div]We are about 70% done with the roll cage, I will send some pictures ASAP.[/font][/div]
[div]In what we have done so far it is only the main (behind the driver) hoop we are not happy with, and that is a pity as it is a major focal point. In the finished product all in black with the black head lining it will be OK, but to us it is not quite what we wanted.[/font][/div]
[div]When something on the replicas is correct it seems to scream correct at you, what we have done is not screaming correct at us .[/font][/div]
[div]We are unsure what we exactly did wrong, after more DVD watching we added a varying radius to the roll bar as it headed toward the head lining, but I do not thnk that is the issue, we allowed about a 2 and a half inch rise to the centre of the hoop (middle of the car). In hind sight we might have been better using just a 1 to 1.5 inch lift to the centre.[/font][/div]
[div]I think that might be our major failure.[/font][/div]
[div]We also think that we perhaps should have gone with 2 inch steel pipe, not the 2.5 that we did use. But we are glad that we did not go with the three inch stuff.[/font][/div]
[div]We have used some 2 inch and that looks a bit small so the reality might be between two and two point five inch steel.[/font][/div]
[div]That one single main hoop took us over 8 hours to make, so we are not likely to repeat that event in a hurry![/font][/div]
[div]Not unless we knew exactly what to do.[/font][/div]
[div]The cage is making the car look a beast, but we just can't convince ourselves that it is film correct.[/font][/div]
[div][/font] [/div]
[div]But one thing is for sure ... your visit to the measuem and the drawings you sent has made the cage 100% better than any other result that we would have achieved. [/font][/div]
[div][/font] [/div]
[div]Sorry that I have not got any pictures as yet but I will have some in a day or so.[/font][/div]
[div]We worked on the cage till about 8:00 PM last night, and just have not transferred them as yet.[/font][/font][/div]
[div][/font][/font] [/div]
[div]Best regards[/font][/font][/div]
[div]Gordon.[/font][/font][/div]
[div][/font][/font] [/div]

If you really think about it, the ACTUAL movie car is no longer "movie correct" and is now an "Incorrector Special." It was "correct" as Murray built it until Kennedy/Miller said "It's a wrap" and he sold it off. The SECOND it was touched by the new owners hand and "restored" "to recoup some of their expenses" (History of the Interceptor, MMM.com), it became Incorrect. The only proof of the car in it's ACTUAL film correctness...is on the screen. There's also the handful of pics that were taken on/off-set and in Murray's posession. That's it. Everything else is "Best Guess" practice and "open to negotiation."

It also depends on which version someone is building as well...1 or 2? I've never seen anyone actually buff and scratch and crack and rip the car to "age/weather" it per movie shots like in MM2. Adrians is the only one I've seen (in person) with actual Broken Hill dirt on it. Gordon has researched a lot of the interior bits and they look good (going by pictures only). Doug's car is the closest one I've seen (in person) from the first movie, going as far as drilling the hole bigger to slant the marker light in the front fascia (no dent in the door yet), putting in the fifth screw in the headlight housing and putting the pinstripe all the way around the car. If people are so "focused" about terms and being "correct", a case in point, is the miss-naming of the front Arcadipane nose made to fit FORDs...it's called CONCORDE. The Monza nose is for Holdens. The BoB/PS has a CONCORDE van fascia fitted. It seems even the "Experts" can't get it straight...all the time.

So don't you guys see? Even the original movie car is now wrong...so...THIS IS ALL PONTLESS! Bickering amongst ourselves is a COMPLETE waste of time and energy that could be spent building and enjoying the thing we love the most...the CARS! Afterall, isn't the CAR the thing that brought most of us into the forum? It was for me...

Wow..

"100% Movie Correctness" is a nice Goal.

I'd call it Impossible, myself.

As bronze 21 said, even the real car is wrong now.

Meself, if I had the monetary means.. I'd certainly want a replica in my collection.

However, what I'd have built would NOT be movie correct..

Intentionally.

How can he keep people OUT of it.... when you brough them into the debate???? You kept on and on about "those guys in the UK" and continually made more insulting remarks about their capabilities with a tape measure...... WHEN THE WHOLE TIME YOU WERE TALKING TO HIM RIGHT HERE!

So you either knew it was Adrian and John before hand... OR you DIDNT.....

Including a copy of Gordons email was put up here TO PROVE TO EVERYONE what a liar you are....

And STILL you go and post about fitting incorrect parts.... and yet again.. you avoid the subject when you are told YOU HAVE FITTED INCORRECT PARTS TO THE CARS YOU BUILD!

Read the statement carefully Grant.... YOU HAVE FITTED INCORRECT PARTS TO THE CARS YOU HAVE BUILT YOURSELF !!!

And still... you keep beating OTHER people over it... and not responding to any of the issues brought to your attension by others on here....

Hi I am going to say one last thing on this, as you all still have missed what Isaid!, I knew who went an looked at the original, I did think they had a tape measure etc, and not just doing it on memory. as I said the beast must have been that overwhelming for them!

and as to fitting incorrect parts, well yes I spose we do, the roof spoiler and nose are correct, but there is NO moulds out there for the correct boot spoiler and flares, so every one is chasing the own interpretaion of that, so good, thats the goal.

the nose well we all only had one choice for a long time, the advanced spoilers one, it was a good nose, a little wide, but you had the closest you will ever get.

roof spoiler, has been out there for ever, this is the one that gets me, there is no way in hell you would get me fitting this properly blended in, I would sit it up there till I got the correct one, but there is no way I would have gone to the efforts like others to fit this to a car!, I apreciate all your comments, and I am still dissapointed that socky is kept his name quiet.

I am surprised at this has gone on so long, but what ever! it has!

and our cars need to be more correct than most, so now I have a bit to go fix! dam it!

Adrian, keep driving your car, dont worry about the police, they will give up on you soon enuf, but you keep driving that car with the determination you have shown here on this thread and they will eventually leave you alone, trust me on that.

SockPuppet, spit out who you are! its a bad name and fits you like a glove at the moment!

So Gordons email congratulating them means bugger all to you??

"But one thing is for sure ... your visit to the measuem and the drawings you sent has made the cage 100% better than any other result that we would have achieved. "[/font]

So Gordons reply to Adrian is incorrect???? As you seem to be at loggerheads with your business partner.... one says gee thanks.. its great info... and the other says... they cant use a tape measure...

""and as to fitting incorrect parts, well yes I spose we do, the roof spoiler and nose are correct, but there is NO moulds out there for the correct boot spoiler and flares, so every one is chasing the own interpretaion of that, so good, thats the goal.""

Again you contradict what you said over and over in previous posts... Your own website STATES YOU HAVE ALL THE MOULDS.... You even confirm the front spoiler YOU USED on the yellow car is hand made !!!! So again.. YOU USE THE INCORRECT PRODUCTS...

"""and our cars need to be more correct than most,"""

I suggest you re-read your comments..... and whats been said on here....

"""Adrian, keep driving your car, dont worry about the police, they will give up on you soon enuf, but you keep driving that car with the determination you have shown here on this thread and they will eventually leave you alone, trust me on that."""

I dunno what has this got to do with the price of rice in China???? Adrian has not once mentioned Police or being pulled over in this thread..... this is not what is being discussed here....

oh no, the boring meter has gone off. The last few posts are just repeating themselves. I get it Grant that someone fitted an incorrect roof spoiler. It seems like it was their choice so live with it.

You and Grodon H are like a lot of builders in the factr that you are striving to get it right. Sadly with or without your knowledge 'someone' has claimed that the replicas were made from the original moulds. The cars look good and there is no need to fabricate or lead people to think that your cars are 100% accurate.

Perhaps if you guys didnt charge so much more people could own replicas that are closer to the movie.
