They're kind of paraphrasing Devin's original article, which is on page 2 of this thread, who mentions a "vehicle elevator". Immortan Joe's lair is a huge underground cavern set up that evidently, going by the added info from members here with friends cast as extras, has a main "citadel" location where Immortan resides and then the surrounding "poorer" edges of the underground abode home to the Wretched. The vehicle elevator could be just that, a construct built within the lair to raise and lower Immortan's crew rides to and from the surface?

Interesting point from the videogame to this: Certain gangs launch surprise attacks from within the ground or "sand traps".

I think I saw one of those elevators in the video game footage with Max sneaking up from behind onto one of the baddies. There was an elevator lifting a vehicle which looked like a carbon copy of one of the FR cars (a hot rod with some crazy exhaust).

Just wondering, we've seen a few shots now of the rig in front of a green screen (here and back in Namibia)....could it be that the rig is being elevated (something that they'd definitely need effects for) from a great height. Surely they'd use green keyed cables rather than massive black chains if you were going to key them out...and those Screwloose lookalikes seem to have their arms up in a ceremonial (or health and safety!) way. Just a thought.
