Interesting, but I cannot imagine they recreated what we saw in the first one. Namibia, vehicles, everything looks like MM2 or MMBTD universe and we saw nothing that can be use for a MM1 recreation...
I've been giving this some serious thought. It is true we have no information on the BoB as it was 'new', nor anything about any yellow MFP cars. If they did recreate these there would have been no reason to take them to the desert for filming, which is where we saw pictures of most of the vehicles. It is easier to hide a comparatively normal car in the city. However, there are reports of filming in Cape Town at night which would indicate location filming, not studio. At night any city becomes generic and could represent anywhere. Any indoor filming could easily be recreations from MM1. Also, immediately after filming Tom was seen with a fresh uniform style haircut which fits in with the first scenes being shot last.

That's an interesting thought, about using Cape Town at night...even for just a few shots. I've been following this pretty closely, where are the shots of the yellow MFPs?

If they were to film any MM1 flashbacks it would have to be cheap and quick. I guess no yellow MFP cars, no teammates, uniforms. Perhaps just Max, interceptor (doesn't even have to be a working one) and that's it. Something in the style of RW beginning and ending scenes, when Max stands next to Lone Wolf or when he walks away from wife and son graves. That's easy and cheap to film, but quite enough to place narration over.

Play it in B/W grainy style and you can use action footage from MM1/2.

Tom Hardy as Mad Max will be something very interesting. He was "Bronson" - a very brutal guy in the english film with the same name and later "Bane" in The Dark Knight Rises. I recently found a pic with him (Hardy) with the good old jacket. Not the one from the first film, either the one he wore in 2 and 3.
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

Very nice theories, but Tom's MM hair don't fit with a Post-Thunderdome era. Max's hair in Thunderdome have a BIG white streak on the left side and a SMALL white streak on the right side.

Still, I love some of the "continuity" theories you presented on this thread.

It's not even clear if the new Mad Max is a post Thunderdome. Seeing the cars it looks more like a reboot to me. I may be wrong, but I would see more pics before.

IMHO, the white streaks are important. They are part of the character's iconography.

I just wonder if we're taking Hardy's comments out of context. It seems like he's talking more about the stunts rather than any kind of flashback especially when you read the bolded:
TH: No, no, he wasn’t. He’s a legend man, but Mel didn’t do half the shit that we’re going to be doing in this one – you can fit the entire fucking trilogy in the first 20 minutes of this one. He’s a legend and I’ve got his shoes to fill and that’s going to be difficult enough, but the entire Mad Max trilogy is kind of over in the first 20 minutes. It’s epic, it’s ridiculous.
As in the amount of stunts and action in the first 20 minutes of Fury Road is more than all of those combined in the Mad Max trilogy.

I actually wondered the same thing.

I totally agree. I think the quote is saying that all the action/stunts done from the first three movies is contained in the first 20 minutes and it just goes ballistic from there.

Awesome!

I never thought it meant anything about the first three movies from a storyline point of view. It's a reboot/re-imagining anyway. Just set in the Mad Max world!
