Here is a break down of the event(s) for the two days: (just some more information) I will be e-mailing the same (as a word doc.) to those that have e-mailed me for event information through [url]mailto:[email protected][/url]

"When the fans take over the Highway"[/font][/font]


April 15th and 16th, 2005[/font]


Friday, April 15:


7:00 pm: "Pre Party"[/i] with live music for Fans and those registered for the "RUN". [/i]The Pre-Party is being held at the Broadway Brew Haus.


We have three local bands. One of the bands is Double Dose (a local Classic and Original Rock and Blues band). Double Dose will be closing with a very special/surprise line-up/play list for the event. This portion of the event(s) is offered with "No Cover Charge". There will be a costume contest, car/bike show, and Vendor give aways. [/i]Vernon[/i] Wells "WEZ" from Road Warrior, (and other movies: Last Man Standing, Weird Science, Commando, Circuitry Man I and II, etc.) will be on had, and will make available various merchandize and autographs.[/i]

Saturday, April 16: [/i][/font]


2:00 pm: A "RUN"[/i] for film replicas, inspired vehicles, muscle cars, motorcycles and fans. The RUN directly precedes the marathon and will last approximately 35 to 50 min and cover approximately 30 to 35 miles. The RUN will travel south/southwest down Interstate 10 around loop 1604 to HWY 151 and terminate in the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema's parking lot; an area will be marked off for the vehicles participating/pre-registered in the run. There will some time given to allow for a casual "Car/Bike" Show (and tell) before the movie marathon begins.


Vernon[/i] Wells "WEZ will be on had, during this portion of the event also. He will be riding in a AU Ford Falcon Black on Black Interceptor Replica. Trimac will be providing a Tanker and Big Rig for this portion and will be leading the armada of vehicles to the Drafthouse.[/i]


Javelina Harley Davidson 29078 IH10 West, Boerne Texas 78006 (they have a test track/training center/big lot in back of their facility where we will be staging for the start) Smaller vehicles (cars, regular trucks, bikes) can enter the lot through the regular parking lot. Larger vehicles (Trucks with trailers, Fuel Tanker, etc.) will need to enter from the rear access road. JHD is located on the IH10/87 access road (west side of the Highway). Coming north from San Antonio take exit 546 "Fair Oaks Parkway"; Continue down access road to JDH. (Further information about JDH and their location is available on their website) http://www.javelinaharley.com


The route will be as follows:


Exit JDH[/i] onto access road heading south, continue to Fair Oaks Parkway[/i]. Cross Overpass to east side of continue south to on ramp for IH10[/i] (and enter) - Follow IH10 south to Loop 1604 (11 to 11.2 miles)


Around Loop 1604 south/southwest to Hwy 151 (11 to 11.2 miles total miles 22.2 to 22.4)[/i]


Down Hwy 151 south/south east to Loop 410 exit (5 miles total miles 27.4[/i])


Loop 410 access road south to ADH (.7 miles total miles 28.4 +/-)[/i]

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has committed a portion of their parking lot, and the attention of the centers security for the vehicles protection. We have also arranged for an off law enforcement coverage during the films. We have many vehicles and fans committed: Some are: A (at this point Classified) Black on Black movie correct Interceptor, Terry from Aussie Imports with a 12 sec 76 ford XBGT one of only a few hundred made (let alone in the states), Grant from MM Unlimited in Australia will be bringing his Blown and Injected 73 Ford XA, John Mitchell is bringing his 1975 John Goss Special XB (one of just over a hundred ever produced, let alone imported to the US), We also have two other replicas trying to open their schedules to attend, as well as numerous participants from around the country with classic and performance cars and motorcycles. More vehicles are signing up every day, this could turn out to be a very large event. [/i]


4:00 pm: A Mad Max Movie Marathon[/i] consisting of the screening of all three movies in the series: Mad Max, Mad Max II "The Road Warrior" and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome at Alamo Draft House Cinema. All three movies will be shown in consecutive order with a 30 min or so intermission in between each, making the completion of the marathon at approx. 10:00 pm. The Drafthouse has also offered a portion of their lobby and bar area for; [/i]memorabilia[/font][/i], personality, and merchandize display. Actor [/i]Vernon[/i] Wells will be available with his Merchandise and Autographs. Before and after each movie and will be in the auditorium during the films. [/i]


Alamo Darfthouse has the event up on their web site, and are allowing the pre-purchase of tickets (for the movie marathon portion)[/i]


10:00 pm: A post-gathering will continue at the Alamo Drafthouse [/i]once the marathon is over. "Stay after the films for some pints, fun and mingling with [/i]Vernon[/i] and your fellow fans".[/i]

Alamo Drafthouse began in Austin Texas and now has or is in work on numerous theaters in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. They have Renovated/Refurbished classic old movie houses, giving room for dinning and drinks with your movie. They have a huge selection of fine wives and beer from around the world as well as restaurant quality meals and appetizers (also the regular movie fair) at very reasonable prices..

Don't forget to bring your cameras now.... Digital, disposable, instant, Polaroid, Color, black and white, 35 mill, 110, 5x5, 5x8, brownie box, movie, still, DV, 8mm, camcorder, beta, vhs, vhs "c", sketch pad, pterodactyl in a rock box, etc. etc. I'm sure we'll all want to see this documented eh...

So close. Tomorrow is packing day so the Interceptor can make its first long journey in the United States early Friday morning. The MFP will be there with t-shirts, badges, patches, all kinds of MFP goodies.

Well,all your Roadwar 151 peoples ought to be either there or real close,since it is now saturday morning here in the states.I truly wish that I would have been able to afford to go from Portland,Oregon, down to Texas,because then my car would have been the only replica to attend both events.


If this event would have been a full year after the first,instead of less then six months,then it might have happened.At least I can claim the 'first'.And at least PART of my car WILL be attending.My genuine Australian police siren has been loaned to a very special car that will be attending.Have fun with it Jake,and scare the crap out of Randy,I STILL owe him.Cheers to all,Bill
