It seems Max got his bracelet from Glory, as you can see it on her arm.

Have to say Ive enjoyed all the comics bar the incredibly dire Furiosa issue (im probably the only fan who thinks the Furiosa character is way overhyped)

I particularly enjoyed the car chase in the latest Max issue; its a refreshing change of environment and Im hoping at some point in future movies that we get to see Max & vehicles in a locale other than just sand.

Ive no problems either in how the originals have now linked into Fury Road; in fact Im happier now than before. Never warmed to the reboot idea.

I remember reading that a single edition or hardcover collection of all the comics was supposed come out after they were all released? I've been holding off for this, anyone know anything about it? not seen anything online about it, nothing on amazon or ebay...

She was overhyped by the media indeed, after all the feminist/counterfeminist issues surfaced up. But Miller definitely imagined her as deeper, three dimensional, more flawed character than epic heroine she was shown in the movie.
And comics definitely have shown her darker side: being one of Joe's wives previously (I'd say she has more issues than just wanting to escape to the green place), and at the last page of the Max 2 comic, that badass moment when she becomes a shadow of her tormentor, as she finally crosses to the dark side, so to say...

George Miller seems do draw lots of inspiration from The Who music, and the whole Joe & Furiosa thing reminds me a lot of We Don't Get Fooled Again song:

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the fold, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they are flown in the next war

...cue CSI scream...

It's clear those Max issues were thought up as a backstory to Fury Road... perhaps even as a part of Fury Road originally. I'd pay a million dollars to see that moment of Max reuniting with the interceptor on film. :|
If you look at Max 1 and 2 comics, they DO REBOOT the story (or REVISIT it), just not in the usual, hollywood way.
Just like Furiosa is bound to get back into vicious circle of tyranny that Joe pulled her in, so Max works his ass off just to get back into madness he craves so much, the madness he willingly created way back... his car... death of innocents... it's what fuels him.

I'm scared, Fif. You know why? It's that rat circus out there. I'm beginning to enjoy it.

It's the vicious circle of violence and madness out there.

This was speculation on the part of Joe's current wives, right? Not necessarily confirmed fact.

and at the last page of the Max 2 comic, that badass moment when she becomes a shadow of her tormentor, as she finally crosses to the dark side, so to say...

That person had two arms, so she couldn't have been Furiosa.

This is out in the UK on 10 September, just to give you an idea. Not sure what country you're in but i'd imagine it would be a similar date.

Nope, you're not the only one, she is overhyped. she's a badass for sure but the media certainly made her overhyped.

Out of curiosity:

Have any of you picked up the softcover edition of those comics? And what does it say there about The War Rig?
