Anyone else think that it's funny that the vehicles all look old and cobbled together out of spare parts but all have new tires on them?
That was a constant joke around the workshop. We all wondered where in the wasteland they found a stock pile of new tyres, lol. Though there may be some explanation to that in the future. Stay tuned......

I think it's an 86 Celica.

Nope. Do a Google image search and you'll see that the '86 Celica, whether in coupe or hatchback form, has a very different shape from that thing.

Early 80's Celica Supra could be right (not Aussie, and 6-cylinder) Unless it's a German car?, Or an early Fox-body?

Again, I beg to differ.
This is what an early 80s Supra looks like:
And this is a mid 80s Supra:

Sure, Matt was correct back on page 51. It's a genuine GTR with some suspension and body mods.
(he was also very close on car #1).

I should have hung out a bit longer as there was some interesting guesses. Next time I'll wait a bit longer until more people narrow it down. After all that's half the fun for everyone isn't it? Guess what each car is and how it's going to be used or how it relates to the audience and characters.

A Skyline GTR? Hmmm. I guess that blows any chance of the vehicle remaining period-correct the way some of us had hoped. Oh well. I will still keep my hopes up, keep and open mind, and prepare myself to meet this film on its level and on its terms.

I've been avoiding this topic simply because I don't want any spoilers to the movie, but I can't help but see some of the pics of the new vehicles.
I gotta say, I hate 'em. They look so damn impractical, and in every way imaginable. They really look like something a kid would put together from a spare parts box.
I am so incredibly disappointed by all of this.
