OK, I have turned this on, let me know if you cannot see it.
I can see the options when I go to create new post :)

Thanks Peter, I will think of a worthwhile poll question.

Poll creation is only working in the 'Fury Road' Forum.

Cheers

In that photo with the three on the truck, I would say as has been mentioned that the front ute is an early Holden (WB, thereabouts), the Jap crap looks a little bit like an R32 Skyline.
The reason it looks smaller than the VW based car is probably to do with the fact that the photo has been taken with a wide angle lense which slightly distorts things that are closest.

I think it would definately be possible for later model cars to still be in existance given the Mad Max universe was set in the present day, even if it was a V6, it wouldn't be hard to rip out
all the electronics and factory engine and throw in a carbied inline or slant 6. The fact that a car came from the factory with computers and electric everything is irrelevent.
It's just the body you need really, it isn't hard to imagine the possibility of actually doing this considering that, that tanker has coupe bodies welded to different coupe bodies
just to make a 'cockpit'. I think that's harder to be seen as being realistic, why go to the trouble when you can just mount a complete car on there?

I question the truck fitted with speakers and subwoofers, not only the fact that it would take kilometres of wiring and numerous batteries to run all of that but also that
I bet you won't see any ruins of buildings or cities whatsoever... So where did they find the ventilation ducts?

And remember if we ever find ourselves in a Mad Max type situation, stock up on matte black paint... You'll fit right in.

As far as there being monster trucks, rat rods, etc. it does actually make sense. Vehicles like these often avoid all the electronic crap on the engine so they would be less affected by EMP. Also, EVERY gearhead I know has a garage full of extra parts for their baby, either things they have replaced or things they know they will need to replace, as well as an assortment of engine upgrades and various tires. So scavenging a garage would provide custom performance vehicles with extra parts, tools, and facilities to work with, before moving onto the next.

Er um... no madmax isnt based on "our" present day..
If you look at MM1 youll notice ALL the cars are old and in shabby condition.
A few years from now.....
This means technology never caught up, there are NO modern cars.
They recycled all their cars to keep them going.

Why would you need kilometers of wiring and batteries??
You run it all from the trucks alternators (dual 24volts will give you plenty of power) as well as an invertor to make 240volts.... OR
you have a nice red yamaha generator buried next to the ducts on the truck.
We are 100% snafu....

Agreed. Looks to me like it has an entire second engine. All the vehicles seem very extreme but well thought out.

I know MM isn't based in our present day, I'm talking about FR, which obviously is based in or after our present day due to some of the vehicles being used.

...There's alot of speakers, the generator and engine are a fair distance from where they're set up.

Also, supercharged engines, barrel rear fuel tanks, side exit upswept exhausts and black.
To shoot the motorbike over the cab in an FX shot.

Anyone else think that it's funny that the vehicles all look old and cobbled together out of spare parts but all have new tires on them?

Oh really? Do tell.

Yeah I think there's going to be a few 'give aways' as to the underpinnings of these vehicles. Especially if the Ripsaw is still being used and the racing buggies. Especially with the monster truck.
