I kinda feel like that too, I think Mad Max is a more scary concept if you picture it in your own future.

Technically, if there was a nuclear war nothing made after the early 1980s would ever be able to run again. Road Warrior (and Thunderdome) were at least feasible. Today's vehicles are totally reliant on electronics.

I agree, just the thought of that possible reality, is a but unsettleing

Can't wait to see the finshed produt on this movie, we fans have not had much over the years from the studios

atleast there will be some more models of the movie cars to build after it comes out

With regards to the "Jap Crap" stuff, I feel it's more to do with the build quality of Japanese cars. It would make them, to a certain extent, unsuitable for the world of Mad Max. They simply can't take the brutal punishment of rugged terrain and being smashed into other cars and wouldn't last long.

There is also a matter of aesthetics... Mad Max is arguably about powerful vehicles, muscle cars, gas guzzlers, trucks... From the era when cars were built sterdily out of metal. Putting japanese sports cars into the mix doesn't blend well with the established feasible and brutal world of Mad Max. By extention of that principal the same goes for modern vehicles... Modern vehicles are too constrained by efficient design, aerodynamics and cheaper manufacturing methods. This is why everybody thinks that the Top Gear Mad Max concept cars are retarded... Because they are clearly designed by people who fail to understand what Mad Max was 'all about'. - The very same reason why we are all questioning the excessive use of hotrods and monster trucks in Fury Road.

Again, the monster truck thing doesn't bother me, here's why. Let's say you have a kid who grows up in today's world, and is exposed to many, many monster trucks. The apocalypse happens...somehow this kid survives, he grows up, and soon he's scavenging parts for a vehicle. He wants his ride to be powerful and intimidating. He's going to go for monster truck aesthetics because it's what he was raised on.

Maybe they're not practical in the desert, who knows. But again, I'm not a car guy at all so that stuff doesn't cross my mind at all.

I was thinking the same, look at any derelict war torn environment and most of the stuff left driving around is Japanese.

It does appear to offer several 'stages' for acting

I not so sure about this vehicle. I hope there is not a scene where its used to deafen the opposition.
It would look better it it was a armoured vehicle with weapon mounts and a few speakers.

technically thats not correct. Do some mathematical modelling on EMP. In the Max universe - remote Australia - its entirely possible.

That's what I was thinking. None of the super powers would have much reason to directly target Australia, would they? And if not, then they certainly wouldn't go to the trouble of exploding the high altitude nuke that would be necessary for blasting Australia with an EMP.
