Re: Possible pictures of actual Fury Road vehicles
I like the look of the truck infront of the import looking car. since this is a reboot I won't be surprised at all if there are more modern cars in this. so while I know we want to keep some aspect of the orginal mad max it seems that...beyond the names and the interceptor everythings going to be new. though the tankers in this make me wonder...and why are there two of them is one a decoy and the other the real transport or might there be dualing rigs...that might be cool if it was dueling battle rigs but man either way I am waiting for this movie before judging too harshly and also looking forward to the game which still seems to be in progress.

The way they have the mounted weapons covered up suggests to me that these things actually work , might be in for some grand mobile flame thrower action

Came across this on twitter...

According to Junaid Samaai, who's a Crash Camera Operator on the film, today officially marks Day 1 of the shoot.

Middle car looks like it could be a Fiero, or a Nissan Pulsar, or Stanza. It could be a BMW 7 series, but it looks smaller than the Bug.

Charlize sparks Mad Max fever in Namibian dorpie
8 Jul 2012 Sunday Times
HOLLYWOOD star Charlize Theron rocked her baby, Jackson, to sleep in her arms between film shoots in the dunes around Swakopmund in Namibia.
The bombshell from Benoni also displayed a healthy appetite when the cameras stopped rolling — tucking into medium-rare beef fillet, pork schnitzel with chips and pizza takeaways.
And it appears that the Oscarwinning actress likes to freshen up with old favourites Nivea and Radoxafter a long day on set.
Theron arrived in the seaside town two weeks ago to film Mad Max 4: Fury Road, alongside Australian strongman-turnedactor Nathan Jones and Britain’s Tom Hardy.
Hardy will portray the title character in the fourth instalment of the action film franchise, which first aired in 1979 with Mel Gibson in the title role.
It is believed that Theron, who had tabloids aflutter recently after having her locks shorn to a buzz cut for the role, will portray his love interest in the multimillion-rand movie.
This week Swakopmund, primarily a holiday destination 30km from Walvis Bay, buzzed with celebrity fever and the hamlet’s guesthouses and hotels brimmed with film crew and cast members.
Staff at a local beauty and massage parlour literally had their hands full massaging the aching muscles of the movie’s stunt doubles.
Theron has often been seen dining and shopping in the town without bodyguards and cradling her recently adopted six-month-old son. Locals described her as friendly and still fluent in Afrikaans.
Last Thursday the star stopped by at Swakopmunder Apotheke where she stocked up on vitamins, shampoo, makeup remover and Radox shower gel infused with lemon grass and lime.
“It was quite strange,” said Melvoureen Cloete, who works at the pharmacy.
“She skipped the fancy, expensive counters and bought Nivea makeup remover and just ordinary shampoo. She was very, very friendly.”
The actress has also earned a reputation among Swakopmund’s restaurant staff for leaving generous tips.
Doreen Khoe-aos from Café Anton, on the town’s palm-lined beach front, said Theron ordered a pork schnitzel and chips with juice and left a R78 tip on a R222 bill.
“She was here with two friends and her baby. She was really nice,” said Khoe-aos.
Yvonne Kharogas, a waitress at The Wreck restaurant, served Theron medium-rare beef fillet with chips, a Greek salad, and a glass of shiraz.
Theron visited the upmarket restaurant with three women and Jackson.
“Jackson became a little bit restless so Charlize got up holding him against her chest and walked around the restaurant until he slept.
“Her food even grew cold while she was putting him to sleep. Then she handed him to one of the other women and finally ate,” said Kharogas.
“She had a good appetite. She nearly finished everything on her plate.”
Jones, meanwhile, who was sentenced to 16 years in prison for eight armed robberies before he turned to professional wrestling and eventually acting, honed his muscles at the Aquarius Health and Fitness Centre, next door to the Swakopmund Hotel.
Pin-up pictures adorn the walls at the gym, which offers a small assortment of dated equipment.
A staff member said: “Nathan usually weighs about 150kg but had to lose 30kg for the film as it is about famine and he has to look thinner.”
Jones famously fought Brad Pitt ’ s character, Achilles, in the film Troy .
But some of Swakopmund’s residents have raised concerns over the movie, directed by Australian George Miller. Desert tour operator Tommy Collard said the crew were not adhering to conservation rules in the “sensitive and protected” dune belt of the Dorob National Park, the primary filming location.
Filming on Mad Max 4 was moved to Namibia after unprecedented rainfall rendered the original Australian locations unsuitably lush.
Local production company Moonlighting did not respond to questions.

Guesses on make and models?
I'll give some clues, but will wait till more pics appear before confirming who's correct.
Vehicle 1 is a Aussie and V8 powered.
Vehicle 2 is Not Aussie and is 6 cyl (it's also a little out of place to the rest of the cars. The aim was to have different cars that everyone would like, not that everyone will like every car, but there are cars to suit a wider audience, so if you don't like one car there would be another one you do like (hopefully
), if that makes sense).
Vehicle 3 is clearly loosely German with the VW bug base and merc benz rims, but it's a custom build (like all the cars, bikes and trucks), V8 powered.

Fury Road vehicles
Looks like it could be an Acura Integra. I'd imagine when they get done with it's 'costume' it will be hard to tell age or identity of it.

So they're pandering to the import tuner/Fast and the Furious crowd? Please say it isn't so!furyroadcars wrote:

If that was a 1970s era Japanese car, I'd have no problem with it, but Max's timeline diverged from our own when everything on the road was a 1970s or earlier car, so having anything newer than that in this film would kind of point to it either being a complete reboot or the accepted assumptions in the fan community being wrong.

http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/w ... of/c5bo9kxTravelling around Namibia and in the middle of nowhere bumped into some cars from Mad Max: Fury Road set.
I guess it would be fun to drive a bad boy like that.
There were some cooler cars as well, too bad I only managed to get pictures of that truck, but there were some angry people waving at us and police involved so we didn't really stick around.
Hi-res photo here.

That's a better PA system than the Humungus ever had access to.
