I'm confident that they will do a great job with it.

Australia is expecting to suffer the effects of a significant La Niña event beginning next year. The last time this happened was in the 2010-2012 time frame, and we all know how that effected Fury Road. Sure, Furiosa probably won't need dry deserts to film, but severe flooding in NSW could present other issues.

Schedule conflict causing casting change.
Tom Burke Replaces Yahya Abdul-Mateen II In George Miller’s ‘Mad Max’ Spinoff ‘Furiosa’

Tom Burke (Mank) has joined Warner Bros and George Miller’s Furiosa, the spinoff to Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Burke replaces Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who had to part ways with the project due to a scheduling conflict.

It is unknown the exact project Abdul-Mateen is exiting over, but sources say it is a secret passion project he had been developing for some time, and production recently moved up on it, which ultimately led him to leaving Furiosa.

Burke joins Anya Taylor-Joy, who will star in the titular role, along with Chris Hemsworth. The stand-alone movie, which will reveal the origins of Furiosa, has Miller directing, co-writing and producing with his longtime Oscar-nominated producing partner Doug Mitchell. Miller’s Australian-based Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner will produce.

he film marks the first major studio film for Burke, who played Orson Welles in Netflix’s Mank and has credits including True Things and The Show. He is repped by WME, B-Side Management and Management 360.

Thats unfortunate for Yahya. Tom Burke doesn't have to many credits but I don't think matters when George & co can get the best out of any actor on the MM sets.

Yahya is starring in the Matrix and next Aquaman so I can see why he'd step down to pursue his own passion project.

I have still several mixed feelings about Furiosa.
I'm afraid that it could ruin the mystique, the beauty and the charm of Furiosa (the character) as well as her story-arc in FR.

Simon Duggan (Hacksaw Ridge, I Robot, The Great Gatsby) is the new cinematographer.

I'm not sure about this, this guy photographed some of the worst looking blockbusters of the past 20 years.

I dunno, I Robot was nicely shot IMO, it had good dynamism in the action scenes, lighting and composition was solid ... though it really depends on the rest of the crew as to how much the cinematographer can affect the outcome, doesn't it?
