Mad Max game was presented at E3 about 2 weeks ago, here's a report on what the game is, its features etc.

Some things I noted from this. Some we already knew or suspected.

-You can leap from your car to another car. Wasn't sure what he meant by that though.

-Making big jumps damages the your car.

-Chumbucket repairs whenever you stop.

-Side flamethrowers on your car are powerful but consume your fuel.

-Sniper rifle only operates from the car, you can't take it with you on foot.

-You have a gas canister in the back of your car, and you find others in the world to replace it. In order to put that fuel into your car you must get out and do so on foot in real time, as you said. They didn't go into more detail but I'm gonna assume the game has some kind of mechanism so you don't ever run out and have to walk for ages to find fuel. That would just be too "hardcore" I think. My guess is whenever you run out, if there's no map location nearby, the game will just spawn a gas canister nearby and maybe Chumbucket will mention it or something.

-Chumbucket points out nearby locations, upgrades/items. Like you said about the GPS, that might kinda ruin some of the exploration and discovery feeling, but it's pretty much expected in a game like this that they will have assistance like that.

Those probably won't last either since it's YouTube but certainly by now it's been copied and put elsewhere.

Notes:

Clears/secures a camp and then finds some things in it, gas, water, ammo, scrap, car body, some kind of item.

He picks up a gas canister, presenter says he will store it for later, then he puts it into the back of the car. Still can't tell if you can carry more than one though, as it's possible he did not have one already in the car.

You can completely change the body of your car at any time. I guess it doesn't matter which you start with then. He finds a car body at a location, walks up to it, and fires a flare into the sky, this unlocks that body option for your car.

Looks like he refills his drinking water canteen or something at a well and sounds like they are saying it replenishes Max's health.

Seems like some car upgrades have to be unlocked by completing specific objectives, not simply having enough scrap. Example in the video, lower the threat level in this area to unlock this engine.

Map seems to have a lot of markers. Guess it's one of those open world games where they kinda show you everything.

Mentions camps which are "really big" on foot combat areas.

Mentions someone's territory, can't make it out, sounded like "Jack Ash's". Anyone know what he says? Others sounded like "Pink Eyes" , "Dead Barrens", "Deep Fries"?? heh I don't know

He mentions Gas Town when showing the map but I can't tell exactly what he said. Looks like it takes up a big chunk of the map, has a thick dark line around it which must be the oil "moat" we've heard about in I think the comics.

World size, he mentions driving from where he is now to some other far off point would take 10-15 minutes of straight driving.

He mentions a location called "The Jaw" (pretty sure that's what he said anyway), a heavily guarded location that seperates 2 regions. He says there is a story mission to break through it, so it sounds like gated progression that opens up more of the map.

It's weird to me hearing ACDC with Mad Max. The early Fury Road trailers had some funky music choices as well, so I'm not too concerned.

In the leak just before they approach the convoy they get attacked by a couple cars, and the presenter says that's just a random thing. In the E3 demo here they also get attacked at about the same time, not so random I guess . Probably just scripted into their demo slice to make the point that random attacks can happen.

After that video YouTube played one that is the same E3 demo we've seen many times (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGgh33eSt-0), demo'd to different people one on one. The difference though, at the beginning that video the presenter says that the journalist or whatever can choose between 2 demos, one being focused on melee and one on car combat. It starts mid sentence so maybe he was saying at their booth on the show floor you can choose between 2 demos.

I have never seen a different demo focused on melee, I did a bit of searching and couldn't find this alternate melee focused demo. Maybe you weren't allowed to record at their booth?

Anyone seen footage of an E3 2015 demo that didn't show the going after the convoy bit?
