TINA HAS TO RETURN

Post by kwakka 9 »

who could have thought that the ageing Queen of BigHair could have provoked such an array of intense responses. I hated her NRL commercials, how long did that campaign run ?? 6 years ?? god it was miserable. Simply the Worst. I am sorry, but Tina sucks bigtime. Her best years were more than a lifetime ago for most of us here. She should just age away gracefully, (preferably out of sight.)

Fury Road needs bikers , its that simple. Or the mutated glowing offspring of demon biker seed (mixed with goodly Goose seed heh Rock !!) and trailer-trash tribe trogs. The sad thing is it probably won't have any. Not the scags that terrorised the world as it was then. Namibia isn't exactly dripping with the rubber road to freedom, thats for sure.

well i hope not - its just a personal thing, ( i really liked her River Deep Mountain High )Image

now she just reminds me of somebodys grandmother.

in any case, I am in no position to bag her perfomance in BTD, 'cause ......shock horror....... I have never seen it. Never wanted to. The whole BTD thing was so far beyond the concept of the first 2, that and the bad reviews at the time have done it for me.

Perhaps this forum can convice the Sceptical that BTD is worth a viewing. It sure generates a lot of discussion. What is the biker action ? anything ??? Have I really missed out on something here ???

Mate, i sure wish i haden't seen THUNDERDOME. and i actually like it. but i woulda liked to have had MAD MAX 2 as max's last adventure. Plus not only does it have NO biker action, cept one or two tearing along in the dirt hardly seen, the thing that really got me was no sign of 'real' cars, which was one of the main things i loved with the first two, watching them with dad and friends as a kid and trying to work out under all the de badging, welding and paintwork, exactly what kinds of cars were these. But THUNDERDOME is just full of unrecognisable converted F100's and VDUB's, though PAPAGALLO's LONEWOLF MACHINE is in it, but it's been given a facelift.

plus the KIDS man and ofcourse AUNTY, they had no place in a violent, brutal adults only movie. Cause of those factors the producers knew what kind of an audience they were gonna get , so they took out all the torture, rape and brutality we'd seen in the first two...

try to sniff out some of the old posts in the page's , for some really cool funny MAX 2 VERSUS THUNDERDOME FANS arguments.

funny you should say that - its always been something to be proud of when anyone asks me what i think of BTD " no I have not seen one second of footage from THAT movie......" My mates just hang their heads in shame and mumble "....it was crap ya missed nuthin' !!...."

well, no bikers, no me. The V8's and the scooter trash, thats where its at. Have had a sniff of the old posts, bloody WEZ V I/BAR takes forever to get through, and sounds like the argument has been run and won many times over - no need for me to escalate further. If people think it was a good thing, so be it.

I thought Thundedome was pretty good. Although the vehicular based combat of the previous two was lacking throughout, its hard to say that camel trains and methane wasnt a natural progression for the storyline if indeed Gas did run out. I mean, the fact that max spent a lot of time interacting with others allowed his character to be developed, and even though some plot elements and characters seemed out of place in relation to Road Warrior, The movie was pretty good.

As for Tina Turner, I dont think she should take part. I mean the film is Mad Max for a reason, and that one reason is Max. For me, she was kinda like Jar Jar Binks, I didnt see why a minority hated them so much, but I also didnt see why they were any benefit to the story. Unless you disagree, in which case flame me to the depths of hell for not worshipping her.

The problem here as that some of you want back the MFP, Max's dog, Tina Turner, the V8 Interceptor, etc, etc, well why don't they just remake the previous movies..

I mean, I don't know about you but I want to see a fresh and original Mad Max that isn't bogged down in continuity..

They did that...its called ThunderDome. Check it out.

the progression to FR must be something else again. The continuing thread from MM to RW was simple and well-explained at the start. I can only guess that this thread must have followed on at the start of BTD ? in some way shape or form anyway. This begs the obvious question: what possible outcome was there for Max at the end of BTD ? or has this already been done to death elsewhere ??

THE BIGGEST TRUTH:

"MAD MAX" and "ROAD WARRIOR" have VERY FEW IN COMMON except for MAX and the dystopical background as much as "ROAD WARRIOR" and "THUNDERDOME" have VERY few in common (despite Max and the dystopical background).

That's the magic. Every other thing is bullsh*t. No pigsh*t, but bullsh*t!
