Thanks for the updates Blackmocco, much appreciated.

My question is not in regards to the scope of the film, but the tone. No doubt Miller was going for a lot more scope in Thunderdome than the others, but the tone was very different, which was my main problem with it. The FR trailer feels more like MM2 than Thunderdome. Even if it's PG, it looks like bandits are getting taken out rather than, oh, let's say, kicked comically into vats of poo. What tone (rather than story) did it most feel like?

This isn't actually true. The studio may love the film but is asking the viewers questions that will help sell it. Let's say all the people at the screening loved Nux. Well, he's gonna be on the poster.

They may also ask the people if everything was clear? Did they miss a plot point? It might be something as simple as fixing the sound mix.

Lastly, asking genre fans is the WORST thing you can do. Most big fans don't focus on the same things that the casual viewer does. I can only imagine some of the people on this board at a test screening...The marketer asks, "What didn't you like about the character arc for Max?" And someone answers, "They didn't make those kinds of tires in Australia, y'know..."

Anyway, I think that the screening reactions are fine. I love that it seems packed with sci-fi ideas, and I don't give a rats ass about it being a reboot.

If anything, even with some reservations, I'm glad Miller let loose for this. It's certainly something very, very unique and special.
Thank you. Sounds like a movie I'd very much enjoy. Just gotta put a few expectations aside. I can see how WB might have trouble selling it to audiences without having to lie to them about what kind of movie it really is. Doing so could generate some bad word of mouth regardless of how good it is.

can anyone confirm if there is an opening montage ala Mad Max 2?? And if so, please shed a few details etc.

Also do the chases build in intensity with a climactic chase again ala Mad Max 2?

Does Immortan Joe have much in the way of dialogue?

Is the lizard the only thing that we see with two heads?? ;)

Question for him...

1. Is the runtime longer, shorter or the same?
2. Has the violence/nudity been toned down? Some in the last audience thought it was borderline R.
3. Aside from the polish, was this new cut better or worse and, without getting too specific, why?
4. Does Hardy speak with a more distinctive Aussie accent, or is it basically the same?
5. Any drastic changes from the previous screening (i.e. character(s) written out, whole scenes missing, etc)?

Ive made a new thread so if anyone wants to put out really specific, plot things, twists, surprises etc they can put them there for greedy pigs like me but safely away from the more patient waiting until 2015...

blackmocco, one more question.

Is the trailer's vibe representative of what one can expect from the movie, or is it a case of bait and switch? If the latter, to what degree? People are going gaga over the trailer. If that's not what the movie delivers, then there could be trouble with WOM. Thanks.

It's a truly fantastic trailer. Does exactly what it's supposed to do. I don't know that ANY movie could live up to what it's selling. Everything in there is in the movie, if that helps. Haha! If WOM is going to hurt it, that won't be the reason. This isn't like Prometheus, which had one of the greatest trailers of all time in my opinion, but ended up sucking giant ballsacks as a finished movie. The trailer's vibe is very much present in the movie, I would say. It's a crazy movie. No joke.
