I just walked out if GameStop and got absolute information on the mad max game.
It was canceled on current gen(360 and ps3) and will still be released on next gen (xb1 and ps4)
You all are more than welcome to prove me wrong. I wanted the game as much as you and I have nothing to gain by telling you what I was told twice.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
That makes more sense. The adoption rate to the new current consoles was much larger and faster than devs and publishers expected making the need for PS3 and 360 ports not necessary. WB already had Dying Light cancel old ports and their current slate of titles like Witcher and Batman being current gen only.
I also asked Avalanche this week about canceled status and they denied it. I also saw Gamestops release calendar in store today and Max is on it.
EDIT: Yup I see GameStop and Amazon have now pulled the 360/PS3 versions.

It's probably for the better to be honest. Like you said Simo, 360 and PS3 are pretty outdated at this point. It's great the game is still going to happen though!

GameStop and Amazon in the UK still have them for pre-order!DGSimo wrote:EDIT: Yup I see GameStop and Amazon have now pulled the 360/PS3 versions.

Likely to follow suit soon enough.Dethroned Emperor wrote:GameStop and Amazon in the UK still have them for pre-order!DGSimo wrote:EDIT: Yup I see GameStop and Amazon have now pulled the 360/PS3 versions.
I'm glad they're canned though. It'll now allow Avalanche to focus all it's resources into the current gen systems without compromising for the old gen limitations. I guess that could be why we haven't seen or heard much these last 18 months...

Also as Taipan posted there's a nice cover story on the game too for Game Informer. Apparently the game has come a long way since ditching past gen systems.

Seeing how they're including pre-order bonuses makes me wonder if there are going to be extra DLC cars from the original trilogy. That would be pretty awesome.

Well when the game was officially revealed at E3 2013 they said the Playstation versions would come with exclusive DLC called "The Road Warrior Pack" and you can see Max wearing the same gear as TRW in the gameplay trailer. Things obviously could of changed since then.Taipan wrote:Seeing how they're including pre-order bonuses makes me wonder if there are going to be extra DLC cars from the original trilogy. The GI article I guess makes mention of you being able to play through the whole game with the BoB V8 Interceptor.

IGN seems to have posted some details from the article..
Regarding the fuel. It's kind of the same way in the new movie in that it's explained and one of the major locations in the movie and game.
- Bit of a spin on invisible walls: You can travel beyond the borders and limits of the in-game map to The Big Nothing, a volatile area of the wasteland where no food or water is present and consumed by dangerous sandstorms. If you can survive a few seconds in the area you'll sometimes find some rare parts for your car.
- Within the Wasteland you'll need food and water to replenish Max's health and both are scarce. Avalanche point out to try looking in the sky for circling birds, this usually means there could be something dead and decomposing they're flying over which means...maggots. They're a good source of protein for Max and you can consume rodents for health too.
- While food and water are scarce fuel isn't. From Emil Krafting, senior game designer: "We want resources to be scarce, but we also want a car game, we want to drive a lot and so on. So gas can’t be super scarce, because otherwise it would be a walking game instead of a driving game,”.
- On foot hand to hand combat still feels like the Batman: Arkham games. Rhythmic button presses, counter-attacks, and being able to roll or dodge attacks.
- You have access to your Garage from the pause menu allowing you to upgrade your car on the fly. The original plan was to have Garages scattered across the Wasteland but Avalanche felt it interfered with gameplay.
- You meet Max's companion, Chumbucket, fairly early in the game and rides along with you in the Magnum Opus wielding a harpoon gun. He can use the harpoon gun to rip off tires and other parts on enemy vehicles, pull enemies out of the drivers seat and even use to impale enemies on foot.
