After the Fury Road trailer, and if you're like me was wondering too, it does seem like the game will feature sandstorms and tornadoes like the trailer shows.
I asked Christofer from Avalanche and he seemed to confirm it.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
I'm still wondering if like the game, the movie will feature wasted cities, bridges and whatnot. Since it seems the game is tied to the movie much more closely than we were initially led to believe, it could be that they decided to hold that stuff back for the next trailer.
Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Yeah I firmly believe they've been a bit quiet because the game is tied so close to the movie, or at least the movie's world, that until a trailer was released for Fury Road they really couldn't show much aside from what they have.
Gamescom in Cologne is in a couple of weeks so hopefully we'll see something then!

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
From what Avalanche has said Mad Max the Game is a completely separate entity to both Fury Road and to the original trilogy. It might be possible that WB Games has made them make adjustments to bring it closer to FR, but I'd think it's more to do with the game not being as far along as they had thought it was.
Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Well without trying to go in to a long winded post this isn't true. Yeah I know Avalanche have gone on record saying that and even said Cory Barlog had no involvement with the game (that they later retracted and confirmed he had worked on the game) but yeah, Miller and Barlog crafted out the story and outline for the game with WB taking it to Avalanche to develop and have been since 2009-2010.TheBalzan wrote:From what Avalanche has said Mad Max the Game is a completely separate entity to both Fury Road and to the original trilogy. The only reason we haven't seen the game released, or much of it and why the delay was a surprise to not many people, is down to that while it's not a game adaptation of Fury Road it does take place in the same universe or at least expands and reuses some ideas from the movie. Like for example, in the movie you hear and see in the distance a location belonging to a "tribe" or gang called Gasstown and yet in the game you can actually go there. WB also wants to get full profitability and exposure by releasing the game and movie at the same time and it's hard to show off much of the game when up until recently we never saw anything official from Fury Road. Miller even spoke about the growth of the video game industry and game citing he would delay the movie if development of the game was behind so the two would release at the same time. Of course he didn't know it would be vice versa.

Of course Avalanche were developing it for PS3, 360 and PC but because a new wave of consoles were on the horizon and now are out they had to port and upgrade all the assets for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Not really about the game but a bit interesting..
Didn't know Kojima was a Mad Max fan. Wonder how would a Mad Max game look like if Kojima make it, it would be awesome. Kojima's style of storytelling will be interesting for a Mad Max game.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
I stopped in to game stop after dinner last night and asked if the game was still being released this month (I checked the website last week and it didnt have one) and I was told the game was going to be released 1/1/2016, it's not tentative because it's the first of the month.
This works out for me because I dont have the money right now to throw down on a game I dont have time to play.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Just found out that last month WB Interactive had a press summit last month showing off the game and talking about it to the press. Apparently WB was talking about how the game will be released close to the release of Fury Road in theaters in May.
