Max could have just been lucky. I was in a multiple rollover crash in about 1973, and didn't get a scratch. Of course seatbelts were not used. I was a kid sitting in the back seat--I remember during the wreck, the dome light was at the top then the bottom then the top then the bottom, and all of us were grunting and groaning as it was happening, but we all walked away. It was my sister's boyfriend's car, a Dodge Dart. He really loved her, the poor sap :) . My sister, that is.
I know it's just a movie, but Max could have lived through the crash.

in MM1, as max is coming up behind the bikes in the first encounter with them, the scene is across the roof and the camera wobbles around a bit and you can see in the back window. It looks like a cameraman sitting in the passenger seat with his arms holding the camera.

I did recognize the wreckage in front of the compound as the Landau. I'll have to check for everything else...interesting. Also...in the opening chase when Max rear ends the Landau as he is speeding up before he makes contact and destroys the nose cone there is a shot of it already gone.

I keep looking and as far as I can tell all fender flares are in tact. Another thing I had noticed was when Wez gets shot in the arm and pulls off just before he goes out of frame you can see that he's wearing sunglasses.

Not sure who you are replying too as cant find anything recent about missing/ broken flares....
But if you watch the film again you will see that during the opening chase that the coupe does indeed have its rear flare cracked and damaged.

As for sunglasses... um... your version must be different to mine.
