The Humungus Machine rides again! I got the call today and everything is back in working order. They really did a good job; and I suppose the half-assed wiring issue was overdue to be straightened out anyway. So I'll be on the road Sunday, cruising along.

If you can arrange that, I'd be willing to head-butt the SOB. But I'm sure you have several things already in mind.

Well the car cruise went great and I was having a great time. Then I stopped for lunch and the Machine barely cranked when I tried to start it. I got it started and drove for a bit more, then I tried shutting it down and trying again. Same thing. So I figure there is a wiring problem and the alternator isn't charging the battery. I brought it back to the repair place and that's where it is (again). I'm also having a better PA system installed, so hopefully all that will get taken care of at once. Also, the radiator is seeping coolant from a tiny spot. I have to decide whether to replace it or try to fix it and hope that it doesn't start leaking somewhere else. I'm leaning towards replacing it and being done with it. (Do you guys ever get tired of hearing about all these problems?) I'm also going to put in a electric cooling fan. I've heard that you want one that is mounted behind the radiator and sucks air in from in front of the radiator, rather than one that blows the hot air next to the engine at the radiator. Anyone know which way is best?
So, the quest to get the Machine up and running the way I want it continues.

Summit has a few kits that are simple to install
You probably have a worn out clutch fan
the best way is air in from the front of the radiator
And all your story's/adventures are interesting

Not at all, Dave. It's the nature of the hobby. Back in my WW2 reenacting days when we were running some vintage armour, we had a saying written on the wall of the shop,

"If it has tits, tracks, or wheels, eventually you will have problems."

No truer words have ever been spoken.

Word will get out that you are back. The Machine doesn't exactly blend in with normal traffic. If he's smart, he'll stay gone. I'm hoping to log in here one day to see a pic of the scag tied to the prisoner bars.

Dave, you may want to stay with the factory fan and shroud. The F-150 had awesum cooling plus it will be less draw on the alt

I've considered that over and over... but I can't put a shroud on it. You see... the real Humungus Machine didn't have a shroud, and I have to stay screen accurate.
Seriously, that's my rational. But then, you might say, the Humungus Machine didn't have an electrical cooling fan, either. But I can hide an electric fan. If I mount it in front of the radiatior, you can barely see it.
So yeah, I know I'm nuts, but that's the way it is.

I would go for the electric cooling fan. Just place it in front of the radiator were you can barely see it. Just connect the wires the other way round to let the fan push the air through the radiator instead of sucking it trough.
An alternator is build to produce enough current to run enough extra devices besides the standard electrics.
And because you drive a lot of those cruises and comic con cruises (don't know how you call it in English), and those are pretty slow, the engine might overheat easier. So, you might install that fan and prevent a second big disaster. Replacing a cylinder had gasket isn't cheap either. Even if you can do it yourself.
