My two cents.
First, an apology is better than "F**k Off!"
Second, It'll be a while before much of anyone will work with him.
However, since he can Bankroll most any project out of his pocket... I don't think his film making days are over.
He'll still be able to have folks work for him.
I think Our questions here should be..
"What Effect will all this have on Mad Max IV: Fury Road?"
1. Would Miller Still work with him on said Project?
2. Would this contoversy limit his options to the point where he'd be interested again?
3. Would the Mad Max Fanbase still support the movie after all this??

1. Don`t think Mel gives a f**k on this one. Guess he`s too old to hold his own in the wasteland anymore
2. see above
3. Sure. Movies are movies, actors screen characters are distant from their private life. Makes me wonder though: whatever happened to the booze in MM2, MM3? New Thread!

Ya gotta wonder if theres a method in Mel's madness....verbally agree to play Mad Max for a 4th time, but find reasons(and tequila bottles) to stall the actual filming.
While he's agreed to star in Fury Road it stops Miller from offering the role to anyone else -and let's face it Mel hasn't exactly done a lot to promote his old films from Australia.Hell while I'm on this conspiracy thread, let's even suggest the DVD directors cut of MM2 is somehow stalled coz Mel baby doesn't want to be reminded of his old films.

I dunno he's a chump for doing what he did, he's a bigger chump for saying what he did, and being drunk could be used as an excuse, we all say things that are dumb when we're drunk. But that's no reason not to want to see his films if they're enjoyable ones. I didn't see Passion. I have my personal reasons for that and it wasn't based on whether I like Mels film company or him. I rarely judge a film by the director but by the films content or subject. I've watched crap low budget films that outshine so called big blockbusters.
Mad Max 4 I don't think will ever be made but if it did then great, and if Miller wants to work with Mel so much the better but I hardly think not working with him based upon him getting drunk and shooting his mouth off is reason enough to exile him forever from public favour.
Rock stars habitually take drugs, get smashed outta there heads on booze, throw TV's out the hotel windows etc and they're loved by all and sundry, even their lofty opinions are sought after on the current events such as the state of the middle east (like they could even find it on a map!!) yet Melly boy falls off the wagon and you're talking about it like it's a crime worse than murder. The media love to build up a hero then systematically knock them down again. It sells papers and advertising on news broadcasts
Fanbase be damned whether they still like him or not! Others have done worse and get applauded for it. He f**ked up. He knows it.... He apologised ok, but I don't think he's sorry for what he said, just sorry it's out in the open... but that's another thing entirely.
Naaaaah he's still in the game, he's just gotta rebuild some trust but he's still a key player in Hollywood. Whether the Jewish backed production companies will want to support him on future projects remains to be seen.. again that's another story entirely.
Or am I looking at this through rose coloured glasses?

Maybe going back to his roots would really do him some good. I remember in 1980 telling people, "You gotta see this movie Mad Max."
"Who's in it?"
"A guy named Mel Gibson."
"Who?"

I gotta laugh as today on the Sunday show on CH9 they did a story on Mel, (even showing a short MM clip). They showed several headlines of US newspapers, one stating "Aussie Mel Gibson". As if trying to distance themselves...lol
