thanks Bubba , that is a great lookin' Zed, very tidy rig indeed. I reckon your english is fine, I bet my french is way worse Image 'bonjeur mon petit ami parlez vouz Oztralian ??' lol

thanx for the links Moko, you should find a Zed pretty easy in the 'states. Here is a good link to start looking http://groups.msn.com/WorldwideZ1Z900Ownerscommunity

this is the best site I have found for good techinical advice, tips, parts and bikes for sale etc etc. You will need to join the comm, its no drama, and worth the effort. Good luck with your search, say g'day to gosling1 when you join up !!

Thanks, friends ...

@ Moko ; good luck with your replica Image

@ Kwakka 9; interesting link! Will register an would like to see some photos of your replica.

Have you found the right Typhoon fairing? (I think, It's the name). Here in Europe, the closest thing we have is the King's fairing. However it does not look so good ! This is the reason why I decided not to build a Zanetti Replica but to build something timider, (close to a standard Z) like what Starbuck, Johnny, Diabando, etc... rides.
I could probably make it on my own, but I like you kids.

@Bubba - the fairing I will use was found at 2 different wreckers (breakers) as seperate upper and lower sections. I have found what I think is the 1st generation top-half, and a Typhoon lower. The lower is not quite right, it has a small pointy bit jutting out ot the front, which is not on any of the faring lowers used in the movie. This will need to be removed and replaced with a flat section. The top-half is exactly the same as zanetti/toecutter/goose, it has the small squared-off blunt section immediately below the headlight, the same profile on the cut-outs for the handlebars on each side, and the same profile for the hand-protection molding either side of the headlight. I only found this top-half fairing last year, and the profile match along each side for upper and lower is perfect Image it should look pretty good when finally completed. I still need the fairing screen, but can probably source this in Oz with any luck. Have not got any shots of the bike as it currently looks, will get some organised, (I need to finish my dirt bike for winter so it is getting all the attention at the moment Image.

That z1000 of yours looks just like Johnny's - all you need now is the single seat, I always thought they used early Ducati bits on some of the other bikes, the seat unit looked almost like a 750 or 900SS single seat ? with a nice K-Mart trailer light in the middle......

ps Bubba F - have had my mail bounce back from your address - have sent over some good shots of my z1000. The message on the e-mail looks a bit weird, almost like your address has a 'double-up' of details at the start. I replied directly to the address on your mail, so I am at a loss ?? not much of a computer expert either . Will keep trying.
