Mad Max films are full of quirky moments. I think the new trailer emphasize this.
Even the first one is full of totaly slapstick moments. I mean you got a guy that was gang raped running half naked in a field. The cut off hand is pure Tex Avery.
That's Miller's humor to ya.
Mad Max: Fury Road Theatrical Teaser Trailer #1
Re: Mad Max: Fury Road Theatrical Teaser Trailer #1
So am I right to make the following assumptions;
1) The truck flip test stunt we saw footage from was a test for this big explosion we see?
2) The hydraulic War Rig weapon is actually a plow which lowers rather than a scoop which lifts?
3) The Interceptor does get rebuilt and used by the enemy?
4) Explosions and stunts are way kewl?

I noticed the oil pump as well. Maybe it's from the prologue.
I actually love the music because it's over the top and has a bit of humor and swagger to it. While it's not playing for laughs, it understands that the origins of this type of stuff is pulp.

This new trailer is a perfect mood-setter for the movie itself. Bombastic, HUGE and over-the-top. I warned yiz this was a pretty big shift from the previous movies. If you go in looking for stripped-down and grounded, you're probably going to be disappointed. The movie had a huge budget and it's all up there to see.
Yes, it's an oil pump. And that's the refinery town in the distance.

I had a chuckle at a poster on another board who asked "What planet is this set on?" Someone answered "Arrakis". Now there's a thought. George Miller's 'Dune'. *sigh* If only.

It's interesting how different the trailers are in terms of tone lol. The teaser was far more intense looking. This looks like Pirates of the Carribean meets Death Race via Clockwork Orange. Looks like a wild action film.
This trailer certainly looks like it will bring in a bigger audience than the first.

The second trailer started to grow on me. I like the music, it's very.... Different yet it's perfect for the trailer.
