Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
that article makes me more optimistic. still I'd love a dlc pack with classic max cars or classic max car parts. if not. missions or mission dlc that pays more homage to the movies would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't mind it if we somehow found the resting place of the mack from the end of the second film. then again that's maybe being a little too on the nose.
This Idea of the great white intregues me as I have been watching a lot of thunderdome to get a feel for the vehicles as I am making many of them in 3D. and you see sydney harbor but what you don't see is water or an ocean. so it's plausable that the dry ocean bed is there in the movieverse. I too love the movies and it's world. I too was always curious about more of it. maybe in Fury Road we'll have something more then we had with the trillogy. maybe not. we'll just have to see. but I like Just cause and I am not alone in this.
Mad max being in just cause's hands should at least make people a little less anxious. thought I understand the standoffish-ness of the fandom on this form. even if I think it might be a little soon to be counting it out. oh well. thanks for the article. fasinating read.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
You have to remember there's two ways of getting round an issue in the movie world;
1) Bend to the rules you've limited yourself by, carefully work out the intricacies and try and weave a narrative into the subtext.
2) Just screw and do it, knowing 99.9% of people don't care and won't question it.
We've already seen new elements injected into the Mad Max universe in BTTD with radiation. It's more than likely Fury Road and the Game will have been able to dramatically expand on previous elements or add new ones (mutants for example).
While the older Mad Max world would make for an incredible lonely and atmospheric game, and personally I'd LOVE to stumble across scenes from the original movies, that has very limited appeal in the marketplace.

I visited my local GameStop and they have Fury Road cases on display that say release date is May 31, 2014.
You will ride eternal, shiny and chrome!
Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
It's just a placeholder date, WB Interactive and Avalanche haven't officially announced a date. Plus May 31st falls on a Saturday when games release on Tuesday in the US/Friday in Europe.kickherintheguts wrote:I visited my local GameStop and they have Fury Road cases on display that say release date is May 31, 2014.

Posted Dec 22 2013 by Dylan Zellmer
Avalanche Studios have gone quiet about their Mad Max game since Gamescom 2013. Its initial reveal during Sony‘s E3 2013 presser didn’t offer much in the way of details. At Gamescom 2013 the studio was a bit more willing to talk about the title, hinting at upgradeable arsenals and persistent hostile weather patterns. We’re now months after the fact and it looks like the title has received a proper street date; 5/31/2014. Not only is the title street dated at a major retailer, but the purported date doesn’t fall into the normal “placeholder” date scheme.
Publishers will oftentimes set placeholder release dates at the end of fiscal quarters. Pretty handy for earnings calls etc. It’s also quite regular to see dummy dates set for the first of the month. This release date doesn’t fit into either of those normally utilized schemes. It’s also only one of the only titles on the document that haven’t had a proper release date announced as of yet.
Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Again it's a placeholder date, like Amazon still lists it coming out at the end of April next year. Games aren't released on Saturdays so May 31st won't be the date.
Avalanche and WB Interactive haven't officially announced anything, though I have no doubt they'll release it close to Fury Road's release.

I have to agree with the above. I have friends who work as managers over at gamestop and they further tell me that generally a company never released on the last day of the month either. it's something about numbers and business. I don't recall off the top of my head but that's the gist of it. we'll get our date when we get out date. I mean hell, what a week ago, we read that they were not fully finished fleshing out the game.DGSimo wrote:Again it's a placeholder date, like Amazon still lists it coming out at the end of April next year. I am anxious as any of you. not just for the game but what it could mean for mad max modding (oh which I am one of the few in the world doing it btw) there may even be a chance me or someone else might be able to use the base player model to model a better mel gibson mad max for use in future mods. so there are, imo, many reasons to be excited about the game. and...and...if it's as modable as just cause 2 was it could lead us to making changes we want in the game through mods -cough- like mine -cough-
maybe I'm a little too optimistic. sure I know that. but it doesn't mean there isn't hope for this game one way or another.

so for me this makes me ask. choose from different car bodies. I know you armor, unarmor, add rammers or take them off. but might they mean litterally that there are other car bodies then the mustang body we see for the opus? cause I'm down with heavey customizaton. hell if they have an xa body like the red xa bat car in mad max 2 I'd be really really happy. if I cannot spend a lot of time in their interceptor then I'd love to have something comperable.
thanks to gamefly and christmas the family now has a ps4. so am renting the ps3 and ps4 edtions and will give you any indepth I can about the "extra content" said to be on the xbox one and ps4 editions. I have no idea of pre-orders but if I were a betting man I'd say a sawed off shotty would come with the collectors edition,if not a full on interceptor scale replica.
probably be a gamestop "Win and Interceptor." contest. as for any day one dlc I'd say car parts and nothing more. I don't see them having that future mission expansion packs the studio has mentioned in the past.

Re: Mad Max 4 - The Game
Im really hoping this game doesnt turn out like RAGE.
Neat premise in a setting I really like, but there's something about that game that just didnt work. It's almost like it's a shooting gallery where you're on a mission or in a building and every room is static and you shoot enemies that move towards you or jump around; then when that's over you walk on to do it all over again. There wasnt much use for the cars except racing and going to new missions, which selections and upgrades also were kind of lame.
I hope it's way more fallout than RAGE.
