I just saw a storyboard from the magazines which has Max fighting off the bad guys and getting shot with a crossbow, weird that it looks too violent to be on PG13 or maybe that one was cut from the movie ?
I think you can get away with quite a lot of violence with a PG13 film, what usually makes it R rated is the gore and excess blood.

I personally don't think gore is that important to have, I am more concerned about story and character, generally speaking.

Probably, but Max was shot on the forehead, when the bad guy fire the bow, Max tried to protect his head with his hand then the bow when through his hand and onto his forehead, it looked gory which give me some doubt it was Fury Road.

Not everything storyboarded is always shot or in the final film.

And there's always somebody who has to watch it and decide. I've seen a lot of stuff in shows and movies that I think didn't fit in the rating category, but the person rating the movie seems to have thought otherwise.

A lot of it comes down to how it's shot. The concept of someone being fired at with a crossbow and blocking it with their hand isn't a problem in a PG13.

hmm i think so, kinda similar. I thought the storyboard version was gorier than this one because it shows that they put some dots on Max/Tom Hardy's forehead for the crossbow and it later it showed the bow when through his hand and stuck on his forehead close up. I guess they cut it or something, although that one looks similar to how RW violence played out.

Here it is.

and this one should be after he got shot (notice the blood and the dots from his forehead :

i think you all have seen this but i'll just show this to be sure.

But then again we all saw that motorcycle photo with him where his forehead looks just fine without any wound so...

Just some food for thought but I'm wondering if FURY ROAD will be screening again in front of fans, movie geeks and the like in December during BNAT.

BNAT or Butt Numb A Thon is an annual movie fest hosted by Ain't it Cool News' Harry Knowles in Austin, Texas and is generally a weekend of being shut in a movie theater and watching films from past, present and future. Previous BNAT have had films months out screened and considering Harry's love for the MM films and his site covering FURY ROAD over the years that I'd imagine he went hard to get FURY ROAD.

He never reveals what movies play at the fest aside from cryptic movie titles for other films that could be associated with the actual feature. BNAT is on the weekend of December 13th so it'll be interesting to see from reactions if FURY ROAD played...
